Just wondering if there is a specific forum here where people discuss junior or senior mining stocks...

We are working on one. If it's not to your taste, start one.

We should have a general category of stock market.
We used to have a section for stocks, options, bonds... etc.
Tomorrow should be interesting. I see a convergence of the Oct2008 peak with the Sep2010 rally. Either the long term bear will continue the downward push or the rally is sustained with funny money pumped out of the federal reserve.
BTW- a couple small miners I am watching for the right timing:
MMTDF- Magma Metals
TGB- Taseko Mines

Here is all you need to know about juniors and mining stocks.
They are a paper asset and when the crisis comes and when you need it the most it will fail you.
They could be nationalized, naked shorted, never delivered, or taken over.
Stick to the physical everything else is mental masturbation.
You can thank me later...

Normal stocks, yes I agree, but mining stocks....
What if I told you I have an acre of land with known 5000 ounces of gold in it. Should I keep that land or sell it and buy gold/silver? That is essentially what buying mining stocks is. Yes it is a paper claim on the land, but it is land. ... there definitely is more risk involved, (like you said) but there is potentially more upside as well.
When I look at stocks I compare them to $silver or $gold at stockcharts to see if they are outperforming the physical metal.
But I do agree that the danger level is elevated. Tagish Lake Gold Corp DOUBLED in less than 60 days. 100% return on investment.

Filthy, what broker do you use to trade the Canadian shares. That is if you don't live in Cananda.

Have a recomendation anyway? The broker I chose, will not allow me to even trade the BB or OC stocks of foreign companies. When I research other "cheap" brokers, I cannot find any exclusions or inclusions of the ablility to trade "foreign ordinaries". :(

I was into Jr s and totally dropped them and changed my strategy in 2006.
I did buy gmo later and did really well, also won the round contest on gim with that
pick, they still owe it to me, lol, gmo was from Hommel lead, I dropped all his leads though,
I am glad I did, that was 2006, bought some gmo at 4.00 later , that was bust, I bought
nothing even after sub 1.00 , I would never buy a jr now unless it was
some med term play.
How did the jr's plugged on gim do ? GPR especially , lol .
They can steal a company, look at SIL, not a Jr but
they stoled it.
Too many issues with these companies.
Buying and holding is not the way in these markets either.
The master small/micro cap trader is on here, LOL !
Throw some bones for fun dammit. ;D
DYODD !
Where is package , PKG ? I tried that for fun, didn't work.

The key is to buy after everybody gets burned and won't go near the water again. That's the time to snap these up, like back in March/April.
