Bill Murphy is a great football player and a great guy but he is crappy with numbers. Adrian has a 1000 times better grasp on the numbers.

there is also the other form of leverage - many of those positions are purchased with borrowed money.

so the markets are doubly leveraged for many participants though i have yet to see any data for the amount of debt leverage.

of course both of those kinds of leverage magnify risk and also have some effect on volatility. the combination of people insisting on physical delivery and margin calls for the leveraged investors can give us some Quality Popcorn Time watching the markets. ;D

Seems a little soft for you Twisted. What about the fools that don't understand and refuse to listen to reason when explained to them.
