I actually don't call this a part of the 1st amendment right. I see it as the threat of murder. While the threat of murder is not as big a crime as a murder itself, obviously not even close, it does deserve to be treated as a crime, somewhere between slander and extortion possibly.

Reminds me of the movie "Battle Royale"

The premise is that, at the turn of the century, Japan realized that their nation was essentially doomed

Their young people were in constant open revolt

In an effort to regain lawfulness, they passed the BR-ACT. Battle Royale stated that once a year, an entire class of students would be taken to an island and forced to fight - and kill - for their survival. Only one student from each class would come back alive. The act was intended to scare the rest of the country straight.

Once they get to the island its a pretty interesting social commentary. Some choose to be lone wolf and die quickly. A few lone wolves are strong, and are feared. Some choose to fight together, even though they know only one individual can win. One group seeks to kill the people running the game...

Those commercials are a joke. F them. It'/s all a charade for control, and now they are trying to scare people into compliance.

Are they a joke? Or are they actually showing these commercials on British TV?

If they are ...It really kinda pisses me off, that they would try to scare people into compliance.

Ken

That is exactly how I see it. It is a form of extortion that says become part of the movement or else! And as I understand it england promotes a kind of "herd" mentality and has become a nanny state that is going farther off the deep end more and more as time passes. That country is scary in the fact that every year it is becoming more the country that the book 1984 predicted. Where individuals that think for them selfs and do not comply with the group think of the time are hammered down. And that is beyond scary.

Most that is heard from that country is more video cameras outside and now inside of the homes and now some city's in the USA are wanting to follow that model.

Welcome "Big Brother" is knocking at our door. :puke

yep Dogman It seems that book 1984 was spot on (except for the date)

I really liked/like the 1997 Mel Gibson movie Conspiracy theory with all the cameras tracking every move the guy makes....

Not hard to believe at all these days

Sorry, I used the word "joke" in the context of "pathetically transparent attempt at coercion"

I don't mean that the commercials are or aren't real. I just mean that they are blatantly obivous in their threatening nature.

But that is what they are doing with this trash: Trying to scare people into compliance with a massive lie.
