Comment from an Orthodox guy who spells it "shequel" that I have an only passing acquaintance with:


We had a year and a half of cheap rent [in Jerusalem] because our rent was in [US]dollars, and we were paid in shequels. The dollar dropped 30% in relation to the shequel.

Interesting that in all the currency talk over the last few years, the devaluation of the USD vs the shekel was never mentioned in the MSM.
