Six monhts ago I drew a ten miles circle around my home and once a week I drive around whiting that circle writing down what I see.....like........which farmer is growing what and who has cows, pigs, chickens and so on.................WTSHTF I won't be running around like a crazy man trying to find something but simply take a look at my map and see who has what I need and go to them.
If you live in a city, or large town, then you should also do as I did......what you should look our for are safe buildings where you and your family (or group) can "bug out into" in case of need, if you have a chance to do so then go into the building to see if if it lends itself to your "future" needs, the best place are with no windows or very high windows and or easy to block doorways.
At my favorite buying place, The Senior Thrieft Store, the prices have gone up.......the $2.00 mixer is now $5.00, and the same for everything else......lucky for me I already have all that I might need either for personal use of for trading.........mixers = 7 in stock.
My next target will be shoe wear, not for myself but for others, in the form of trading.
As you all can see what I have been preaching for the past six years (all the way from GIM) has come to be true............so, listen to "Uncle Ponce" ............maybe I should write a byline under the name of Uncle Ponce? ;D

i've started stockpiling massive amounts of vices. coffee, plastic bottles of cheap whiskey, smokes, etc.
i took a look around one day and realized that almost all the tradespeople i know (people who can actually do + make things, not run ms word all day) all smoke + drink.

Rabbit, If I was a "Jew" I would say nothing because then later on I could keep everything that you have...as is their plan...........instead of insulting try to think and to bring something that we all can use.

Ponce, I hope you're stocked up on KID's stuff too. They need new sizes every 6-12 months. Babies grow even faster.

after " risky " barter items like cigarettes and booze
childrens items would be next on my barter list
if electricity goes out, no tv, no gameboy, no internet
and parents may have to actually " parent " again
and childrens " distraction " items may be a high priority
for these parents who used tv as a babysitter
