LONDON (Reuters) - Anyone who owns a laptop computer can now fight crime from the safety of their home and win cash prizes for catching thieves red-handed, under a new British monitoring scheme that went live this week.

This is the kind of thing they would have done in my high school if they had the technology back in the 1960s. I suppose in the UK the insiders want to treat everybody like a group of unruly adolescents. I would expect any country that does this kind of thing to its people to have a beefed up public mental healthcare system to deal with all the neuroses and psychoses that people suffer from this kind of abuse. The underlying assumption here is that everybody is a criminal, and there is 'zero tolerance' for crime.

When will people in the western world begin to understand that they cannot allow the uncool, anally fixated people to set standards for public behavior or for law enforcement. I think we'll get the message when these people finally get what they want--to throw everybody in jail for just being themselves.
