View Full Version : Warning grapic! Always Take a Gun to a Knife Fight

Got this in my e-mail.

Here's a couple of photos of an Officer who tried to stop a guy who was described as small and carrying a small pocket knife. The pictures are graph. The Officer lived, but next time one of your liberal douche co-workers says, Cops are trained to stop people with knives, without using their gun, show them these.

These photos are of an officer trained in hand-to-hand combat. The officer figured that due to his size and fighting skills, he could disarm a knife wielding aggressor.

Forgive me if I have a hard time sympathizing with police officers.

Oh there are a few lessons here:

1) Pocket knives can make formidable weapons.

2) Always carry a gun, so as to thwart any potential pocket knife-wielding attackers.

3) Don't be a cop.

I have to call BOGUS on this one, .....I've seen these before and they were listed as gang-related in a prison, and of course not all cops wear vests, but you'd have to think IF someone was wearing a vest, some of these wounds wouldn't happen...just sayin'

You know how some of these pass along e-mails are.

You may be right that the story is made up! And that may not be a cop. You are right most cops wear their vests and would never go out without one I would think.

But the photos are for sure real and are knife wounds looks like a few punture wounds around the neck!

Moral is as I can see it is never take on someone with a knife period. Just shoot him if he makes a move that is threating and be done with it.

Something is up with those photos, the guy was lying on the ground motionless or something ?

Where are the stab wounds. ? Notice the perfectly horizontal cut across the chest, going for
12 inches plus, straight and deep, was the guy lying on the ground motionless or something ?

Even some clothing provides some protection to slicing like that.

A pocket knife ? A razor sharp fighting blade maybe.

A knife wielder in an attack has a very good chance of injuring himself.
Most likely you will survive a knife attack unless you get hit in a vital
area, most people naturally react to protecting those without any
training.

Where are the stab wounds on the guy ? Relatively clean cuts like that ?

Don't think I'm calling BOGUS on you...and like I said, I wasn't there..lol But I saw these photos at least a year ago, and it was chalked-up at the time to a gang-related prison fight, if I remember, I don't even think it was a fight, it was several guys holding on to this one and cutting on him, some kind of prison/gang pay-back... :D

...and about the cop angle....I SERIOUSLY doubt a cop would take someone on with a knife bare handed, cops SHOOT people all the time that don't even have a weapon...lol

You guys know that kevlar vest DONT stop knives, right?

ETA: Although some PD's in larger cities are upgrading their vest that have stab RESISTANT materials in them. Chances are though, unless they paid for them themselves, alot of cops dont have em yet.

You got me thinking so I did a web search and found a site with the main picture here posted. So you are right about the cop thing being fake. Got all of this in a e-mail and reposted here.

Quick search and found 2 more titles using the same photo.

Still a good lesson stay away from people that want to cut you, Shoot them before they have a chance to get

That would explain the cuts. No stabs, no defensive wounds.
Has a tattoo too.

Guy must have had some experience knife fighting. Most knife fighters try to desperately stab. Only an artist slashes. However, this artist wasn't going to any vital areas, in fact he seems to have targeted the least knife-vulnerable areas.

Something is odd about that.

Seriously very deep cuts but the bleeding seems to have stopped on its own.

Maybe Doctor Mamboni can explain why this guy didn't bleed to death...

If it was in prison, it was a message. The tatto on the back seems to have been a targeted area.

A friend of mine is a bailbondsman he says he would rather be shot than stabbed/slashed with a knife. Something I hadn't considered until talking to him and hearing some stories but I tend to agree.

Yea, hell of a choice there....I guess I'd have to know what I was being shot with before making a choice...if it was .308 or .300 WinMag...I'd probably go with the knife... :D

Knife wounds can be brutal. Personally, I'd take getting stabbed over being shot, but being shot over being slashed by a knife.

Never go hands on with someone with a knife! Never, distance is your friend, as well as your firearm.

Stabbed or slashed, they're both bad, being stabbed would carry a little more risk; hitting vitals and infection, I used to know a guy through a friend of mine, carried a fixed-blade on his side, he said he'd spray Raid™ in the sheath every few days or so...called it his "Dirty-Knife©"..... :D

THeres an old saying "run away from a man with a knife, run towards a man with a gun".

I always say "just make sure you bring a gun to a knife fight and know how to use it well"

Im not sure about the getting shot vs stabbed. Ive been stabbed and slashed, though nothing close to what is pictured above. I cant say if I'd prefer one to the other, but from nearly every combat vet friend of mine, they all seem to dislike getting stabbed over shot. I think its a mental thing. People seem to be far more terrified of blades than guns for some reason.

Ive noticed it myself when I show people some of my guns and they ooh and aw over them, then I'll show them my knives and swords and axes and they get a little squirmy and tense up a little.

My preference is not to endure either injury. Make sure they wind up down for the count before you do. :D
