Happy Bank Failure Friday -

Congrads to Zap for calling 2 last week - Wakulla and Shoreline bit the dust.

We're now well into election season, any bit of activity is filtered through that lens - Will closing banks hurt or help Democrats?

I think now that it is evident that the Fed will print infinite amounts of money, the banks no longer need to worry about those pesky under performing notes, so we'll see a drop from the anemic pace they've already set.

How many go down this week?

For the Ruprick - what state will be honored?

One can follow along at :

Good luck!

I'll guess that there'll be a modest 1-2 bank failures.

I am going to predict 3-4 bank failures for today with Tennessee for the Ru prick.

I guessed 7-8, I think they rather take a bunch now so the voters forget it till election...

I see two - one in FL - TPTB are doing anything they can to keep a lid on things until the elections.

We have major banks who committed interstate fraud and now cannot foreclose on mortgages.... yet they get a pass.

Yeah that must be the reason. Gov't workers seem to like start their long weekends early.

You might have said that jokingly, but most likely you're correct. I once worked for on a gov't project and our gov't rep was out of the office more than she was in.

Hmmmm...........No bank failures this Friday (Oct. 8). Those FDIC slackers have been slacking off since Sept. 17 (6 bank failures on 9-17-2010).

I do not know about you but I smell an epic bank failure whoopsie (15 or more bank failures) coming later this month or sometime in November. Just my gut feeling talking to me.

Silence before the shitstorm?... Yeah I'll go with that... Either 15 or so, or a megabank failure... Citibonk maybe?
