View Full Version : What are you doing with your gold stocks? Sell into dollars, or hold out?

Just wondering what people are doing. My US gold stocks are down 3.4% today, Canadian down 1.14%. The month of October is traditionally a "pull-back" month, but with all this crazy talk from the world's central bankers, and also with Bonds loaded to the hilt... I wonder if people's bet on deflation might be right in the near term.
When I think of deflation I think of diminishing money supply. The US Dollar has been hit so badly the past month or two - is it time for a dead-cat bounce?
What are you doing?

I am not into stocks but the way I see it ........it is good to hang to it as long as you know that you will be able to collect your just rewards........I say this because there are many factors involved in this equation........like......your paper gold? where are the mines at, will the governmet confiscate the mines?, will you be able to sell at the right time and get out?, how high will it go and will it stay there or go higher?...........I am sure that this time it will not go down, to many nations are getting ready for the implosion of the US fiat and any other currency that does not have a "back up plan" and are holding the fiat.
Canada holds dollars but they have a lot of things with wich they can protect themselves with........and so does China, now they are selling more good world wide than what they are selling to the US.....Germany is in the forerruner class because they are getting rid of the US fiat and the Euro and going back to the Mark........Japan is also doing good, not as good as in the old days but still doing good.
By the way guys......I don't know a danm thing about economics so that if I am wrong then correct me and I'll learn.

I sold a lot of my GLD stock and bought physical gold in place of it last year. I still have a good bit though in my retirement fund and may convert it to mining stocks. I really need to think about that. I know Europac has them now so I may speak to my broker about that soon.

I'm cost averaging back into GDXJ. I like the long term fundamental. I picked up 1000 shares and will add more next week and the week after. I'm holding all my CEF and PHYS for the duration.

I own some shares of large PM mining companies. All of them are producers. I'm holding them for the duration. I expect that the stock prices for these companies to move five to ten times greater than the price of gold. That hasn't happened yet. I taking the word of Jim Sinclair jsmineset.com that the large mining companies will do better than gold itself. I'll probably sell them after a big runup. But for now, they are as good as the metals they produce.

I got out of hl pal swc gdxj and a few other non-pm stocks recently to purchase land and some equipment necessary to improve it. Bugout/recreational/retirement planning finally being put into action, baby!

The music is still playing...
Enjoy your mental masterbation with you paper assets.
Make sure you listen for the laughter when the music stops.
