The foot soldiers agree the war cannot be won. Unfortunately, we don't hear from the warlords who make a living fighting this war that cannot be won. The power structure has been out of touch with reality on this issue for an entire generation, maybe even two generations if you think back to Anslinger.

I doubt they will give up their insanity by listening to reason. I think the only way to end the drug war, and all the other wars that violate our sensibilities is to remove the power structure and replace it with people whom we hold accountable for their use of the power we give them,
