I have a gamo whisper .117 and it is deadly and quiet. Perfect for in town use.

I just picked up a Gamo Big Cat 1200 - wow - powerful and accurate!!! Not that quiet but a lot less noise than a .22 with the equivalent fire power.

Gamo's may not be top of the line but they do get the job done. I like mine and it helps keep the unwanted critters away. And the neighbors have not a clue. :D

Edit: they may sound loud to you but the sound does not carry as far as a .22 short and you can not beat the cost of the ammo.

I have that same rifle... but I'm too cheap to put a scope on it.

I also have one of these:

I bought it for my daughter... she has fun shooting in the backyard.

(She also has a pink 10-22 I posted pics of at GIM1)
