That's a good board. However here's my take.

Get a copy of the 100 item list
Learn to make stuff you might need, medicine etc
Learn to weld
Learn to be self sufficient

It's more than just guns, ammo, food, and PM's.

Absolutely General! It's actually a mindset. The survivalist board is a great starting point Ken, but really any good plan needs practice and updating.

I was just thinking yesterday that most people would think my making kindling bundles to be a waste of time. Actually, I have the time right now and the kindling is abundant. I save all little paper bags and fill them for future use. Prepping is about keeping a specific item on hand, knowing you will use it for something to save you money or make something more efficient. Yep, it's a mindset.

Can you make a knife? Would you like to win some money for your efforts?

1st place - $300 + Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger
2nd place - $200
3rd place - $100

Starting October 5th, 2010 and ending October 31st, 2010 we will be taking entries for the contest. Winners will be picked December 7th, 2010.

We are looking for people that need a little cash for Christmas - that is why the winner will be picked on December 7th. This gives you a couple of weeks to take care of business before Christmas. If your a doctor making $100,00+ a year, there is no need in entering. We are looking for people that need a little help, or a little extra cash for Christmas and don't mind working for it.

try it anyway, LEARN HOW TO DO IT. SHTF you may not be able to replace the Chinese made blade sold as a hunting knife at walmart, at least learn how to put a proper edge.
