I'm in the process of appealing a Municipal Court jury trial that I lost concerning a Failure To Yield Right Of Way alleged traffic offense. I am looking for forums to discuss my case and get some help with the proper forms and procedures. This now goes to District Court.

My first task is to draft and file an Appeal Bond...I'm going to put up the entire amount in cash, so I believe this would be called a Cash Appeal Bond, instead of a Surety Appeal Bond? As a friendly gesture (supposedly), the prosecutor recommended I have a lawyer friend (which I don't have any...all the ones I know charge the hell out of me) look over the language in the Appeal Bond because he said there was some "magic language" that had to be in there. I've got 10 business days from the end of trial to draft and file it (9 days from today).

Anyway, recommendations for legal forums that you think would be helpful would be appreciated.

tell them you don't have a license plate on the car. that will prove that you have a "free car" that isn't subject to any of their crazy laws. ;)

Book, you're the one who makes asinine comments in support of corporate state thuggery over citations written up on commerce infractions. YOU are the one who keeps posting moronic non-constructive comments when someone is trying to have an earnest discussion. Plus you're unable to articulate on the much more important matter of how come CIVIL offenses have CRIMINAL penalties preferring to make things personal (as evidenced by your sick and twisted wooden dildo comment on this thread).

NEWS FLASH: This is a minor traffic ticket.

If more people quit acting like sheep that enjoy being sodomized and lawfully challenged everything that the corporate state thugs do which are without any question UNLAWFUL then the entire system would implode because the corporate state doesn't have the resources to handle everyone challenging them.

Mocking the silliness of this thread? Thanks to the contributions of many on this thread, I now have an abundance of links to explore, have joined two forums (suijuris and Legal Help) and received a PM from a helpful member who gave me a contact for assistance in getting the proper forms...that is what you call productive help...unlike your weasel like ankle nipping.

I live in a small town and cops have to respect you. When they know that they will be held accountable when dealing with you, they are more likely to either not want to mess with you, or will be on their best official behavior if there is contact.

Both the Prosecutor and the Judge told me I put on good case...and that it could have gone either way. After the verdict was read and the fine accessed, I gave my notice of appeal. We all shook hands and they all wished me luck...including the cop. I actually think they enjoyed the case...except for the cop, who was red part of time and uncomfortable.

Now, I also have a great witness for my appeal...someone very popular, well known (newspaper columnist and church employee), beautiful, smart...and totally on my side ;] She will testify to all the trial facts and material misrepresentations. So, now it will be my testimony, the video, and my witness...I like my odds now :]

Book keeper, there is no such thing as a minor legal issue, it a system of record keeping with cumulative severity...with one ticket on your record, a second one becomes much more serious and punitive. When I interface with any government entity, I leave no loose ends.

I like how you are so concerned with people summoned to serve on juries...so altruistic of you. :oo-->

Exactly. Everyone who gets a ticket should at least try to fight it.

The worst that can happen is that you still have to pay it, but still have put it off for awhile.
The best that can happen is that you don't have to pay it at all.

Either way it buys you time and ties them up.

The inconvenience to the jurors is the point, mr. Book. If you cost the system way more than they collect from you, eventually the system will wise up or go BK. I think chopper should take this thing to the supreme court if HE has the time and conviction to do so. The more you waste the systems' time, the quicker it will die. Starve them, bankrupt them, run them in circles until they puke. Even if you lose, you get the joy of knowing you wasted so many resources and destroyed so much productivity, that, in a small town, you are unlikely to be fucked with again for small change.

Screw them and their system. Make it impossible to collect your $200 bucks without spending 5k, then give em there 200 bucks and laugh in their face.

What the visitor will find here is little known legal history about the people of this country that is not taught in the public schools nor for that matter in law school as part of the general curriculum.

MISSION STATEMENT

Mr. McDonald is dedicated to educating the visitor about their secured rights and how to defend them effectively by focusing on the common "traffic ticket". No one likes being pulled over and being issued a NOTICE TO APPEAR for some alleged violation of the Vehicle Code. The knowledge one has regarding "how to" deal with the common "traffic ticket" will provide the accused with all the basic legal knowledge to deal with virtually any legal matter, this is because elements of law are generally the same no matter what the allegation.

Hey Cedarchopper: principles are worth defending - that's what this country's ethic is all about. If you truly feel you're in the right, it should not matter how far you have to go in attempting to prove it. Good for you.
