I was listening to Don and Roma on WLS this morning. They had Jan Schakowsky on for a 14 minute talk.

This broad is dumb. The people that voted for her are even dumber. She makes Pelosi sound like Einstein.

Here is the link (http://www.wlsam.com/Article.asp?id=1999995&spid=17424) to listen page to the podcast or the download. Starting about 6:15 in is where it gets stupid. She is trying to talk up Social Security.

It's worth the listen.

Oh, Jan says Liberals are sexual people too. :puke

They have her on every so often. It's all I can do to keep from busting out laughing or throwing up while listening to her.

I just try to keep it from being both. ;D

The Social Security "lock box" has been broken into a looooooooooooong time ago. There is NOTHING in the SS "lock box". The gov't is not capable of keeping its hands off of money that is supposed to be for something else. The gov't will spend the "rent money" on booze and hookers and as a result, the gov't will shortly become "homeless" and will end up robbing the taxpayer for some money for a place to stay.

Treasury Notes that are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Gov't = worthless

Do you want Jan Schakowsky running the country? I don't think so.

This is old, but it has to be one of the most ignorant statements I've every heard by a member of Congress.....the first time I heard it, I thought it was a joke

I would say they are worthless in this case. The notes "traded" between S.S. and the Treasury cannot be floated on the open market. Since, S.S. is running a deficit. New bonds must be issued by the Treasury (or spike the price of Citi and sell) to pay for any shortfalls.

That's the way I see it anyhow.

They're only worthless if the gov is unable to levy taxes sufficient enough to make those Bonds good.
However, making the Bonds held by SS "good" would represent double taxation.
The plan was to never actually have to use them, but the "base" didn't grow as much as the scheme required it to.
Ooops.
