Let me know if it is worth it.

Great video. My bookmark for it goes to a video that was pulled from youtube so thanks for reposting.

The historical aspect of monetary policy is what I enjoyed most. I don't care for his solution which boils down to fiat currency with the supply tightly controlled. That's just straight up fantasy.

That is the KEY problem isn't it. Just WHO can we trust with the responsibility to keep the money supply tight? The answer in my books is NOBODY - let the physical limitations of the earth restrict the ability of bankers and governments to enslave mankind.

:P

Don't be afraid of watching this. The creator himself uploaded this video in hopes of spreading the message. He does pull it down and re-upload it periodically however.

and having missed your post, I recently got my licks in,
http://gold-silver.us/forum/general-discussion/the-secret-of-oz-new-vid-from-bill-still-%28the-money-masters%29

pasting the following reply over from that thread, more good resources,
...

I cross-linked these threads, as I was first made aware of this "Secret of Oz" video via this recent Corbett Report podcast: Corbett Report audio: What is the Essense of Money? Gold, etc (http://gold-silver.us/forum/general-discussion/corbett-report-audio-what-is-the-essense-of-money-gold-etc/msg128567/#msg128567)

OP:

Featured Speakers/Commentators: Bill Still, Paul Grignon

Summary: What is the essence of money? Is it a store of value? Is it a medium of exchange? Should it be both, or should they be separated? Join us this week on The Corbett Report as we explore the history of William Jennings Bryan and the Populists, The Wizard of Oz, and the real nature of money.

MP3 - 1 hour, 55 MBs (http://www.radio4all.net/responder.php/download/46300/52137/67300/?url=http://www.corbettreport.com/mp3/episode154_cross_of_gold.mp3)

[size=10pt]It's a good discussion, but the first 15 mins are general news, so jump ahead to cut to the chase.

Beside's Still's videos, they also discuss Paul Grignon's (Money As Debt, Money As Debt 2 (http://www.moneyasdebt.net/)) ideas about a proper monetary system. He's also critical of the problems with gold backed money, and instead suggests a "self-issued credit" approach, which is the focus of Grignon's site: http://www.digitalcoin.info/

I thought I would give this a poke. I was watching the Wizard of Oz movie and a couple of things stood out to me this time around. Amazing what you pick up now you know more (and more).

This is not the thread for that discussion but this is a worth while documentary for people to watch if you haven't seen it or watch it again. A lot of historical information on FIAT in the world and the US. Seems the US has had this problem repeatedly.

Turns out I'm watching this one

To Silver Rocket Bitches: But fiat currency whose volume is controlled by governments rather than private corporations seems to have an impressive historical record, according to this doco.

Bestowing on private corporations the gift of money creation to run a national economy is dumb and doomed to failure. What do the citizens receive in return for this needless generosity? The Government should end it but of course they are corrupted beyond salvation.

Hello jack1878 (http://gold-silver.us/forum/member.php?22674-jack1878) welcome to the board. You make some good points. Unfortunately they seem to be timeless observations of our predicament. I think it's always been this way, in cycles, just some times are more outrageous than others.

Curious about your member name. Is the number a significant date?

it is all about those controlling the supply

the only way to radically decentralize is with local and debt free currencies.

It is the cooperation between each atom (its own free will) that makes a body function.

we started out with partial ownership of the first US central bank -- along with the int'l banksters....and George Washington. that didn't last long...we lost our stake

Washington is a piece of sh-t. after fighting war to break free of bank of England, he pushed/succeeded in bringing it right back to the states

I would support state banks before federal. but i'll take federal if that movement gets momentum first. HUGE difference compared to what we have now. imagine a fed that is working for profit for the treasury, rather than working to enrich the globalist pigmen --- and kicking back a little chump change to the treasury.

would have to raid/takeover the whole system in secret and at once -- cant let them know its coming....or they'll go full retard terrist

Hi Glass,

Yes, it's the birth year of an American I admire. He was a champion sportsman but was crucified (figuratively) for being black. I've been fascinated by the life and career of Jack Johnson for a long time. It's a thing I have.

Re the posting, the doco was an eye opener for me. Some things I already knew but I was unaware of many things about the history of money. The crime of 1873 for example. I also didn't know that Lincoln was virtually forced into printing greenbacks in 1862, and it worked quite well. Garfield wanted to break away from debt money and he got seen to.

Seems these banking elites have been behind every major conflict for the last two centuries and more.
