Was in a unfamilure area today and stopped to have lunch, when I notice a sign next door. Something along the lines of buying Silver $14.50 OZ. Anyway had about $40 FRN's on me and said give me the cheapest Silver bullion you got. He handed me a shitty ass looking 5oz bar, pass, he handed me a 1990 ASE mint, sold $27.00. Damn these prices are crazy. But not bad for local coin shop.

Anyway felt good to get those FRN's out of my pocket, totally ripped the guy off.

3 Dollars over spot depending when you bought it today.

Mint now charges 2 bucks over spot to dealers.

So you paid an extra buck for a 1990.

I would consider this a score.

For a SAE, that is not too bad of a premium IMO with spot at currently close to $24. I am not exactly sure what the local dealers are charging for SAEs but I suspect that it is more than $3 over spot.

I checked bullion direct when I walked out, $27.20. I wasn't looking for a deal, just wanted to buy a little something. Sort of pisses my off , my local dealer was calling me weekly, when it was 18 and I never had any cash on me and blew him off. I'm not planning on buying anymore Silver at this price, just a novelty buy.

Silver always dropped back down to $18 right?
