Last week I ran into two sign-holders at the post office, who were supporting a state petition to provide "Medicare for All" in Massachusetts. I approached one of them and said, "You do realize Medicare is bankrupt, right? Why would you want the state to emulate a bankrupt system." He replied to me, "Medicare isn't bankrupt." Then he turned to his fellow sign-holder and asked quietly, "Is it?"

I may be ignorant, but how can the US be bankrupt? Congress has the ability to print and coin money as it sees fit. Honestly, disregarding the political and financial correctness of it, the Congress even has the ability to completely dissolve all the US debts if it wanted to.

Section 8 - Powers of Congress
To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

The laws of economics are nonexistent in the minds of statists.
And when the gov't-run scheme nosedives their only solution is to blame the nonexistent free market and demand more centralization and taxation.

I believe the definition of "insolvency" is when an organization or government or person is unable to pay its bills/debts.
The US gov is in this position based on mathematics for medicare. Add social security and the numbers are off of the charts.
youtube/google the film 'I.O.U.S.A.' and follow David Walker, former GAO Accountant.

People who buy gold sense the current state of affairs intuitively, whether they articulate it or not.
