Thats pretty bad. Of course if you catch it yourself you can see whats there but if you buy it from the shop that stuff will have been processed out at a factory.

People will be fed this seafood and no one will know.

And that photo is from over 1 month ago.

too lazy to copy over a bunch of links, but go to http://www.floridaoilspilllaw.com, stories about poisoned seafood are numerous.

As though the waters should be open for fishing at all, as though the fisherman haven't been through enough, I see where they're being asked to sign a waiver upon selling their catch, that if anyone gets sick from it, the fisherman are liable... :-X see:

Tears: "Maybe you're gonna realize it later... it's gone, it's done"

How far is this stuff going to spread do you think?

I remember as a 14 year old we used to go fishing a few miles off the coast near what became a fairly large industrial area. In the begining the fish were plentiful. There were lots of varieties and they were beautiful fresh fish. An afternoon fishing would see us fill upto 4 coolers (eskys) and this could be upto 150 fish. We're not talking big fish but maybe plate size. Herring and the like.

Then the govt relaxed industrial waste dumping rules and the place was decimated. The masses of weed that fed and shelted the fish died out. The fish were very small catch and they were off colour and smelt. You would get a headache from eating them. We never went back and I don't think the area ever recovered.

I remember they had a big project to revegetate the seaweed beds. I don't know if it ever worked. Someone who can do inland fish farming might be on a winner IMO.

edit Oh and crabs the like I haven't seen since. So many crabs. Blue mana's we called em. If you sinkered a bait fish you could let it sit a while then haul it up and there'd be crabs hanging off it. Nets still worked best and sometimes there's be a half dozen or more in a net.

that's the true cost of technology - including processes such as gold refining.

what Jake was referring to in Avatar when he said, "They Killed their Mother".

as The Talmudic Jews say, "privatize the profits, socialize the costs".
