i think it has gone parabolic.

the term implies a curve-fitting function, so we need more data-points, i.e. more time.

but - from one weekend back around April, when it stood at $17.30, to now ($24, $25), that's a substantial increase.

One of Sinclair's groupies (Eric) defines parabolic as "2 power uptrend lines, the last one being a minimum of 62 Degrees Azimuth"

repeating what I heard, so don't shoot the messenger. ::)

like this -

................/
.............../
............../
............./
............/
.........../
.........~
......~
...~

just trying to do my best with ASCII 'art'.

the line segment that ends with ~ is one uptrend line, then the one that ends with / is a steeper uptrend line. possibly more than 62 degrees.

actually though, the angle (62 degrees, etc.) would depend on the scaling of the horizontal & vertical axis. it can be made to be any angle.

but that's all math stuff.

parabolic implies that it's rising at one rate, and then starts rising at an increased rate.

silver has increased from $18 on August 24 to $24.94 (call it $25) today, Nov. 2 (call it Oct. 24.)

that's a 33%+ increase in 2 months.

if it keeps rising at the rate of $7 every 2 months, that's a linear increase.

(boring math stuff ;D )

"parabolic" implies it will now increase at a faster rate.

i don't know about that. if it keeps going up $7 every 2 months - that's $32 by Christmas, another $42 next year, taking it to $74 by the end of 2011.

without going parabolic - just staying linear.

either way, it's going up, it does appear. :o

Silver seems impressive because it's been beaten up so much, that when it finally gets some legs people go all ga-ga.

This doesn't strike me as parabolic, but it does strike me as abused/raped.

I kept waiting for him to volunteer that particular piece of "chart art" manipulation of which you speak...then the funniest thing happened. Groupie #2, Dan Norcini suddenly adjusted his 45Degree angle of ascent charts ---within 90 minutes--with shortened up horizontal axis "magic" and posted a FRESH, STEEPER CHART ART, to show 62 degrees ascent to support poor beleagured Eric who didn't like being questioned by a lowly nobody like me. Evidently Eric only ... oh, well, never mind.

I just laffed at the whose dick is bigger boys.

Birds of a feather definitely hangout together on Sinclair's "goldwings." :gwing

A full move to late Jan. 2011 with only the "pause" here and there could set up a large cup and handle. Technical analysis is still very much in line with the fundamentals and I really don't think we'll see much of change in that for a very long time to come.
