View Full Version : San Francisco outlaws McDonald's Happy Meals

They actually did it! What pisses me off equally is that McDonalds will just sit there and take it, and comply with these idiotic laws! I really wish they'd stand up to the city and keep selling happy meals, ignoring every fine and threat, but that will never happen.

San Francisco outlaws McDonald's Happy Meals

SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco's Board of Supervisors has voted, by a veto-proof margin, to ban most of McDonald's Happy Meals as they now are served in restaurants.

The measure will make San Francisco the first U.S. city to forbid offering a free toy with meals that exceed prescribed levels of calories, sugar and fat.

The ordinance requires restaurants to provide fruits and vegetables with all meals that come with toys for children.

The ordinance, which takes effect in December, says restaurants may include a toy with a meal if the food and drink combined contain fewer than 600 calories, and if less than 35 percent of the calories come from fat.

"We are extremely disappointed with today's decision. It's not what our customers want, nor is it something they asked for," McDonald's spokeswoman Danya Proud said.

What happens if they charge 1 cent for the toy? And have a take a penny tray setup?

SF is overrun with bums, sorry, employment impaired persons.

The tip jar/penny trays would just become another source for them.

On the other hand, other than the projects (Potrero Hill) there really aren't a bunch of kids in SF so they probably don't sell that many anyway.

The good news is that Gavin Newsom (mayor SF) is now the lieutenant governor (elect). So this foolishness can be replicated statewide!

Customers didn't ask for nutritious food either...

We will be seeing a lot of this type of legislation in the coming days.

Parading around pretending to be altruistic when in reality, it's all about control.

San Fransicko's megalomaniacal career politicians strike again.

It seems to be only a matter of time before most of the SF-based businesses depart from SF and then Cali.

Awwwww come on people. The SF Board of Supervisors knows what is best for it's people. Just let them tell the SF citizens what to do. The SF Board of Supervisors knows what is best for them and all they are doing is protecting the children from those evil happy meals. Everybody needs to remember that it is all about the children. This is such a wonderful idea to ban happy meals. GO SAN FRANCISCO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS!!!!!!!!!

And for those of us here who have to deal with this spawn of Getty being groomed for national office you just wait. Gavin Newsom will make Obama look like a saint. He's an empty suit greaser moron who takes his queues from his handlers -- a perfect up and coming NWO tool they will be more than happy to unleash. I suppose at this point it doesn't matter anyway. Never mind.

I think kids should be of legal age to decide if they want to eat McD's if their parents can't figure out that genetically modified sugar laden poison is not something you voluntarily feed to a developing child as a special event.

Thinking of Spurlock's health prognosis going off the charts in less than a month. Cigs, and booze take decades.

Then again cigs and booze might be the way to go too, some kind of trifecta. Toss a few smokes in the happy meal bag.

A nice apres smoke certainly completes my McD's experience.

Just wondering if any of the inquiring minds on here ever noticed that these kids are wearing fat suits? Look closely. OK, back to your original programming. As for kids needing to be legal age to eat at MCdeath, the same crap is in everything kids eat from the grocery store, so unless your parents are on GSUS, you are probably eating shit. Just saying.

Carry on....

McDonald's would sell kids crack if allowed by the government. The government had to force CocaCola to stop including cocaine as an ingredient:

Coca-Cola did once contain an estimated nine milligrams of cocaine per glass, but in 1903 it was removed.[30]

I've actually sat beside a woman on a bus that had that exact fatroll folding effect on her ankles....talk about 100% authentic cankles.

This woman sounded like she was suffocating when she breathed. So nasty. Hair was greasy like crisco. I bet she could suck back a dozen big macs and not even flinch.

I can picture her as a child blissfully playing in the McMindfuck McPlayland with her special McToy reward for eating her McD's. 360 degree mind programming.

Have not seen anything nastier in person thus far.....fingers crossed.

Force?

A result popular opinion, and a law passed towards including your ingredients.

And let's face it, the world was a better place back when Coke had cocaine in it.

I'm sure it wasn't nearly as bad as the public school's history books would tell us.

Shortly after their inception all the World Wars taking place, would be a much better example of a cruel world.

Yes, I imagine as a result of this legislation the "Happy Meal" will be skipped, and the only meal afforded will be candied dessert.
