With all the excitement about silver and gold, don't overlook what's happening with the other commodity prices today. Coffee and sugar up 5%. Most other commodities (cotton, soybean, crude oil, cattle, etc) up 2-3%.

First they announce no COLA increase for Social Security for the second year in a row, and then they drop the hammer!

Yeah, it won't take long for these prices to work their way to retail.

I dunno, wholesale price for 24 ounces of flour is what, 20 cents even now? today I saw 5lb flour in a 5lb bag for $1.49 or so, so even at retail a 24oz loaf is 45 cents's worth of wheat.

One of the most overlooked marketing tools in times of below-loan prices is the government 60-Day Lock option, says Michael Lockhart, farm business management instructor, marketing club leader, and Ulen, MN producer.

It is hard to overlook the other commodity prices especially when you go to the grocery store to buy food. One way for me to overlook the other commodity prices is to not eat and to not drive.
