Oh sure, I remember three or four years ago when he had a segment of his show called "Am I diversified" a caller rattled of the names of five or six of the biggest gold miners, and flim flam Jim chimed in, fe fi foe fum, I smell the blood of a gold bug, and proceeded to mock the guy.

Who's laughing now?

Anyone that has been aware of the paper fiat game knows full well that film flam Jim is a BIG part of the paper fiat show.

now that the US government is taking the #1 spot in terms of holding US government debt, purchased using printed money, i would imagine that countries that worked for their US gov. bonds are not too happy.

e.g. China.

those Chinese $ holdings are chasing hard assets around the world (farmland, commodities, oil-fields, etc.).

i guess it matters what Cramer thinks because some investors listen to him.

Here's my biggest takeaway from this clip.

Gold is 0.6% of the average portfolio. Take it off the table when it is 5% of the average portfolio.

That's actually a very good metric to be used for the "speculative" portion of your PM, and not the survival portion. I wish that statistic was readily available to the rest of us.

From a positive viewpoint. Cramer recommended gold after or about when the market closed at near the high. The viewer got home and watched. The viewer bought the next day when gold and silver was put on sale 2-6% off. Cramer's buy point allowed the new buyer to get a bargain.

Cramer is finally getting more knowledgeable, 5 years late. He still has not got the point about GLD, but he is learning. I would agree with his current recommendation that the individual should be 20% in PMs (just avoid GLD and SLV).

My portfolio is currently 48% in PMs.

Flim flam jim is not undergoing a learning process, he is manipulating his flock. I relate his comments about gold to that of a snake oil salesman of the 19 th century, still pedaling his products but saying it would be ok to take an aspirin once in a while.

When the tide has turned, and it’s becoming clear for all to see, it is awfully tough not to acknowledge it, at least in some small way. That’s all the flim flam man is doing here.
