Photos of Mamboni near the dock before the final departure have surfaced recently........


Alternate theories include one or more of the holds was full of Toilet Paper as part of a strategic reserve for a country/company code named "Ponce" - the storm blew off the hold's cover, causing the TP to absorb water, resulting in the eventual sinking of the boat.
