If you want to take the quiz, just go to theadvocates.org/quiz, and it tells you where you stand politically. It seems to go beyond the Democrat, Republican, and Independent spectrum.

The Washington Post said it has “gained respect as a valid measure of a person’s political leanings.” The Fraser Institute said it’s “a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person’s overall political views.

Libertarian

Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

Since I did not score 100% on the Personal and Economic, then maybe Homeland Security will leave me alone. ;D I feel much better now. :)

i was about 70/70.

i think there should be a draft in one sense - that all the children of our elected representatives should specifically be required to work on the front lines. to serve their "country" ... or the special interests their parents work for.

and maybe to draft Israeli youth to fight and die in the Iraq War, since Israel is the country that helped push the US into the war - TWICE.

and then to let all the cush jobs that the children of elected representatives get, well they could go to the young would-be soldiers that wanted to serve their country but have no obligation to die for Nancy Pelosi and Obama.

let's draft Rahm Emanuel's kids - stick em on the front line in Afghanistan.

we'd have world peace by Christmas. :o

100 on the personal and 80 on the economic.

Now there were issues with the questions.

I disagree that governments shouldn't hinder free trade.
This is the only way government can get their grubby hands on money that doesn't come from the sweat of our backs.

There were a couple of others I had issues with, but this is the one that kept me off the immediate red list of the HSA.

STATIST

Statists want government to have a great deal of power over the economy and individual behavior. They frequently doubt whether economic liberty and individual freedom are practical options in today's world. Statists tend to distrust the free market, support high taxes and centralized planning of the economy, oppose diverse lifestyles, and question the importance of civil liberties.

I'd like the option not to have some other country's slaves undercut any local economy making same goods. Assuming at least in theory it is possible to have a somewhat honest government in these matters.

Libertarianism is just another pigeon holing ideology pimped by ideological whores that deserves neither consideration nor respect. They are little more than freeloading hijackers of the centuries old concept of individual liberty. I don't need no stinking ideology to tell me how I should think or what I should believe.

I'm not really a libertarian. I lean more toward anarchist. Libertarians have self-imposed blinders on. Anarchists have thrown off the blinders.

But I am sure they have no place on their grid for the Anarchists, so they call them 'Libertarians' because that's the closest thing on the grid.

I voted maybe on the draft. Draft is a strong word but I am in agreement with the original intention of the 2nd amendment in that every man needs to have battle capable weapon and be ready to go to action for his state (ie a well regulated militia). It's the specifics that concern me therefore I voted maybe.

Anarchist will NEVER enter the mainstream as a political party. Anarchist = terrorist, a notion that has been programmed into the peoples' minds for at least a generation.

Anarchism is just another BS Jewish ideology. Just like their communism and Libertarianism, where people are individuals and individuals alone. There are never any groups nor any power struggles between them or between groups and individuals.

Create anarchism and you create a power void. The void will not remain a void. The void will soon be filled with tyrants.

How old are you Hatha?

My pet generalization is that politically, Anarchists are young Libertarians, and it follows that Libertarians are old Anarchists. 8)

AH HA!!!!!!! I see that you are making out the FEMA camp checklist and checking it twice to find out who was naughty or nice. Normal sheeple people, such as myself, should be present and accounted for at one of the FEMA camps if/when SHTF. Since I have been a nice sheeple person, then I want the FEMA camp with the orange juice and pepperoni pizza and I will be just fine. :D ;D

90% and 100%

Libertarian.

The only question I hit maybe on was the "Repeal all drug laws" one, and I selected "maybe", because coke, crack, heroin and the like are very different from weed, hash and mushrooms, so I can't just say "All drugs should be legal or illegal".
Not sure where I stand on that.

SLV^GLD
17th November 2010, 06:47 AM
Drugs are a social, mental and health problem if they are a problem at all. The only aspect of drugs that makes them a criminal problem is the fact that they are made illegal which confounds the issue by insuring those involved can't seek help without fear of legal consequences.

Repeal all drug laws.

I agree, but if it were to happen, the parenting and "it takes a village" type of attitude would need to step up. Kids don't need to mess with drugs.

Parenting and "it takes a village" attitudes would step up if government would get the eff out of the way.
Today's environment discourages parenting because not only does the government corner the market they punish those who would parent outside their protocols.
