SEATTLE – Seattle police say they have reassigned a plainclothes officer and launched an investigation after the officer was shown on a convenience store video kicking a 17-year-old boy in the groin during an Oct. 18 arrest.

In a statement on their blog, police said they learned about the officer's action Wednesday. They say Deputy Chiefs Clark Kimerer and Nick Metz viewed the video immediately, then reassigned the unidentified 10-year veteran officer.

KIRO-TV says it brought the incident up with police on Wednesday. The station aired the video Wednesday night, as did KOMO-TV.

Police say five people were arrested for investigation of robbery and assault on the night of Oct. 18 after an undercover officer was lured to a parking lot and attacked. Police say two officers were seriously injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center.

The actions of other Seattle officers have drawn criticism recently, including two caught on video kicking and stomping on robbery suspect and using a racial epithet. They later realized they had the wrong man.

Originally from that city and now in East Asia.

But in the last 2 years there have been many Seattle PD officers issues.

Not sure if it's different, or just being reported, or if the city has gotten worse.

I do believe that some officers from cities from other parts of the country have relocated to Seattle. Not saying that is a sole reason, but they have had different experiences.

And yes, there are idiots and dirilects in Seattle they have to deal with.

Lot of Officer stories, and yes involving innocent people being permanently disabled, and seriously injured.
