Cops: Fake doc carried out breast exams in bars



A woman posed as a physician and duped at least two other women into undergoing breast exams at her hands in Boise-area nightclubs, according to police.

Kristina Ross, 37, remains in the Ada County Jail on two felony counts of practicing medicine without a license. An Idaho judge set bond at $100,000 on Wednesday.

Police said Ross introduced herself to victims — one at a downtown Boise bar and the other at a nightclub in a Boise suburb — as a plastic surgeon named Berlyn Aussieahshowna, a name that turned out to be bogus.

The two women told Boise officers they believed Ross was a physician because of her apparent medical knowledge, and they agreed to undergo what they thought were breast exams, which happened at the bars.

As part of her ruse, Ross allegedly gave the women the telephone number of a real licensed plastic surgeon in Boise, the state capital, authorities said.

He convinced her that the only way it could be treated was for him to give himself an injection and transmit the "medicine" through his semen. She agreed to it and didn't realize anything was wrong until she told a friend who convinced her that she was raped.

Bail set at $100K for fake plastic surgeon

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A Boise woman who police say posed as a plastic surgeon and fondled at least two women under the guise of giving a "breast exam" has been ordered jailed on $100,000 bail.

Kristina B. Ross faces two felony charges for practicing medicine without a license. Ada County prosecutors on Wednesday said one woman disrobed for Ross and another was grabbed over her clothes.

The case came to light on Nov. 2 after employees at a Boise plastic surgeon's office reported taking several calls in recent weeks looking for a doctor who did not work there. Officers spoke with 2 of the women and are looking for other potential victims.

Ross was convicted of aggravated battery in Twin Falls in 2003, but was classified by the Idaho Department of Correction as a man.

BOISE -- A woman Boise police say was posing as a doctor, giving other women breast exams, is actually a man.

KTVB learned new details Wednesday about the woman accused of "unlicensed practice."

Boise police arrested Kristina Ross, 37, Tuesday afternoon after two woman said she gave them breast exams at a bar or nightclub under the guise of being a plastic surgeon.

Police first learned of the incidents on Nov. 2 when a downtown Boise medical office reported a string of strange phone calls.

After interviewing the two victims, police learned they both met Ross at a bar or nightclub. Ross claimed to be a plastic surgeon named "Dr. Aussieahshowna."

Police say she convinced both women to let her perform a breast exam, claiming it was a medical evaluation.

According to documents KTVB obtained from the Idaho Department of Correction, Kristina Ross is transgendered.

Ross served a prison sentence back in 2004 stemming from an aggravated battery charge out of Twin Falls county.

The documents from that prison stay, lists Ross as an "M-T-F" or "male to female."

The victims in the most recent incident say they believed Ross because she used medical vocabulary, and even gave them a phone number to an actual plastic surgeon's office in order for them to make follow-up appointments.

Police say many victims did follow-up, and that is how police were able to track Ross down, but they are concerned there are even more victims.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.

Ross appeared at a preliminary hearing Wednesday. The judge set her bond at $100,000.

She is being charged with two counts of practicing medicine without a license, which is a felony.

Each charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Ross is scheduled to be back in court in December.
