are you in france magnes? i actually saw the beginnings of this myself about 8 years ago in paris. gangs of muslims (not youths either, these guys were in their 20s + 30s) would hang around the subway exits harassing people. it looked to me like they were trying to pickpocket them. the police would do nothing. an english guy who ran the hostel we were at actually made us a map of where to avoid. i can only imagine it's gotten worse since then.

I very nearly was sent to Paris for a work project. I was going to have to be there for 3 years so I was going to have to find a place to live. During some of the planning sessions it was repeatedly and emphatically stated by Parisians that specific areas were completely off limits and that these areas were off limits even to the police. These people had no reason to be smearing muslims anymore than any other culture but somehow they just randomly decided to tell us that these areas were controlled by muslims? I think not. At no point was I informed of areas controlled by christians or hindus or any other culture that would be happy to take my life just for walking through.

301ouncer is full of it to say his precious muslim culture was unfairly portrayed by this.

It was bittersweet to learn we were not awarded the project. I would have very much enjoyed living in Paris for 3 years.
