Dogman, this is SUPER easy to make and quick. With prep and cooking maybe 30 minutes max. If you make it you will thank me later. I brought some over to my mom's house today for her and I to have lunch. She tried some and she said, "YOU made this?", then said, "I'm keeping the rest for dinner, now get on the roof and clean the gutters". ;D

I'm going to have to give it a go...I love soups...one of my favorites, and it's easy to make is French Onion...try it some time ;D ...never tried to can it though :D

I made this for dinner last night after working outside all day in -10 celsius temperature. It was incredibly good and filling, yet quick and easy to make.
I left out the cheese and cayenne and added milk and black pepper. Thanks, General , for posting this recipe :)
