Have no clue what any other States have updated..

Michigan looks to be one of the most gun friendly states if you have a CPL. Note the last 2 paragraphs which sum up the most stressful part of carrying concealed or open. Also note that we can now carry in stadiums and schools, bars, banks and churches etc as long as it is NOT concealed. However if you do not have a CPL you can only transport it in the trunk of your car only if you are 'legally' transferring it to the listed places and that's it! You can open carry legally but you're going to have to walk there. (what about bicycles and lawnmowers?) Very limited without a CPL.
Just wait until the next parent teacher conference ;-]

Just looking through my old unread emails, not sure how I missed this link.

I would suggest making a copy and having it with you just in case.

I think that Tennessee has some very friendly gun laws IMO. It is not too hard to get a TN carry permit IMO. Getting 8 hours of gun safety courses, passing the written and shooting qualification test and paying $115 to the State of TN is all that is needed to get a carry permit in TN.

My wife is friends with one of the workers at the county where they issue buy and carry permits. She told me that they had to get 3 extra finger printing machines and were handling over 1000 applicant/CPL licenses every day for about 2 years. She says now it's only a few hundred a day but still are open an extra 3 hours a day to accommodate the people. This isn't a huge county so it seems that at least 1 in about 3 people at least have purchased guns. I didn't ask how many actually were just there for CPL permits but every time we went to visit there were grandmothers and old guys unfit to walk... getting CPL's, Mothers with babies in tow, you name it, was there. I think were pretty much packing good up here. The wait to fit in for the training/shooting part was 2 months for us too but that was last summer.

Vermont is the only truly "most gun friendly" state.

Permit = permission, therefore it is NOT the exercising of any right. Do not be confused.

That's actually quite a bit of hassle to exercise a right. Indiana you just fill out some forms, pay 100 bucks (life time) 50 dollars ( 4 year) and you're "permitted to carry."

only state in the union (that I know of) that allows a life time carry permit.
