http://visiontoamerica.org/story/theyre-doing-it-tsa-confiscating-cameras.html

We knew this was just around the corner, when we heard all the stories about how "we" aren't changing policy even thought the public is outraged, how what "we" aren't tolerating dissent, how "we" need to work toward "partnership," how "we" need to understand the clarity of "our" mission.

They told us if Republicans were in charge, we would be living in a police state. They told us if conservatives were in charge, our rights would be forfeited.

And here we go. Our rights forfeited. The police state.

In liberal land, where this behavior is, now, apparently the new normal.

Cameras are being confiscated now, the natural next step to preserving the police state. The natural next step in quelling public argument. Rather than let witnesses record the outrages taking place in airports around the country, the TSA is confiscating cameras even though there is no policy against it. And why would or should there be, if you're not doing anything wrong, TSA?

[Editor: Everyone needs to start filming everything. Could you imagine the uproar if the entire line in security started filming everything constantly and the TSA attempted to confiscate all the cameras and phones?]

Another one for the category of those that make the laws have no accountability. What's that old Latin phrase? Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who will guard the guardians? It's almost pointless to believe law has any meaning anymore. Confiscating cameras is just another example of protecting themselves instead of protecting us. But then protecting us was never the intention anyway so I suppose it's a moot point.

And not one in a Million grasp the utter simplicity of that raw truth.

Exactly. I was going to quote that same sentence.

Really though, this story as it stands is less than "thinly sourced", it's unsourced. TA's link refs this link at the end:

as the source, and that link has the same text, offering no source. Gotta dismiss this until further notice.

There is no doubt in my mind they will snatch a camera as they would a laptop

On almost every major issue, you can find the truth,
" What would Jesus say ? ", What would Plato say ?
Maybe it would just be a discussion, the process is
the education.

Plato has a lot to say. You are all Philosopher Kings
and it is your duty to bring the sheeps out of the cave.

And everyone that works to prevent this is evil, TSA.

I see this story dated 11/26 at theintelhub.com,

TSA Agent Claims Videotaping Against the “Rules” Declares TSA Above The Law (http://theintelhub.com/2010/11/26/tsa-agent-claims-videotaping-against-the-rules-declares-tsa-above-the-law/)

which cites this blog at Forbes:

Want To Photograph Your TSA Ordeal? Not So Fast (http://blogs.forbes.com/andygreenberg/2010/11/24/want-to-photograph-your-tsa-ordeal-not-so-fast/?boxes=techchanneltopstories)

it appears the rub lies in,

"2.7. PHOTOGRAPHING, VIDEOTAPING, AND FILMING SCREENING LOCATIONS
A. TSA does not prohibit the public, passengers, or press from photographing, videotaping, or filming screening locations unless the activity interferes with a TSO’s ability to perform his or her duties or prevents the orderly flow of individuals through the screening location. [...] "

... so it's ultimately at TSA goon's discretion, you understand, ;)

Mini Spy Car Key Hidden Camera Camcorder DVR 720*480 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Spy-Car-Key-Hidden-Camera-Camcorder-DVR-720-480-/200461655274?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eac721cea)

This might be considered spam, but for someone who wants to use a mini-camcorder these little camera's really work. I have one on my keychain and no one knows when I'm recording them. They might think I'm a little odd when I follow them with my keyfob though.
