Whistle-blowing website Wikileaks says it has come under attack from a computer-hacking operation, ahead of a release of secret US documents.
"We are currently under a mass distributed denial of service attack," it said on its Twitter feed earlier.

I wouldn't consider DDoS to be hacking.

Of all country's or institutions in the world, The u.s has the most to loose and does not want to see that info put out.
So IMHO I would not put it past the DOD or one of the alphabetic agency's to try and delay the release, or just to screw with them.!
Just saying.
Edit: clarifying my statement !

Ahh, more of the “storytelling” aspect of Wikileaks.

Don't worry I read a MSM comment on this already that they already had the info so it will not stop the press from reporting the leaks.

I totally agree that DDoS are happening but something as easy as running an exe typing in an IP and Chargin Mah Lahzor is something different than hacking.
They aren't "hacking" into anything they are just rapidly requesting information and overloading the servers.

Yes
You maybe right if the whole world wants to peek at that info at the same time, think not a server in the world could handle the traffic...

So all these cables and even "secure noforn" level docs have been in the hands of the Guardian, Der Spiegel, etc.
Where is the info about Israel? NOTHING is mentioned about Israel, despite cables about Sarkozy, Berlusconi, Putin, Iran, Afghanistan, the British, etc.
