i frequently post at huffingtonpost just to:

a) irritate people
b) TRY and bring a different perspective to their warped minds

lately though, EVERYTHING i post is deleted. i've even experimented and posted rah! rah! obama type stuff. doesn't matter what i post, what i respond to, etc. it just gets deleted.

in the past, they would ban you, give you a timeout if they didn't like what you said, etc. now, none of that. they just delete what you say.

interesting. has anyone else seen this on other forums? it's quite odd to never be admonished, just have everything you say be magically erased.

People change when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.

That is to say, I don't think people will listen to a different perspective until there is sufficient pain in their lives to warrant a second look.

For some people (almost all) "winning the lottery" (or winning Survivor) makes their lives miserable. The first contestant ever to win Survivor went to jail. For the elect few, we will seek to use the wealth for the greatest good AS WE SEE FIT - and right now it's all about capital preservation.

I dropped the Huffington post sometime in 2007-2008 (I believe) when they started putting the hollywood media garbage all down the right side of the page.

Completely lost interest.

To paraphrase Zbigniew: It is easier to delete a million posts than control them.

And didn't Huff Post delete all their previous comments when GIM did?

When you post do you state your honest opinion? That wont convince anybody, you are too far removed ideologically. You need to be a baby-step away from who you are trying to convince, because baby-steps are all they are going to take.

I like being honest too, which is why I only post places amenable to my positions.

But if you want to help sheeple, try doing the obverse of what Glenn Beck does, mix 90% of lies that they believe with 10% of truth.

Websites like the HP, Democratic Underground, Free Republic, etc. were not established for open discussion and critical thinking but for group and partisan thinking.

It's pretty sad that they continue to embrace their black-and-white views of the world and society but it is their websites although they're missing out on reality.

I agree! It is better to try and get people to think for themselves in most cases, instead of screaming the truth in their face...Of course I do appreciate those who screams the naked ugly non-politically correct truth too, but in most cases you get further by aligning your message with your audience, without lying of course...
