Actually having MERS serve it might turn out well for you. MERS is just services the loan. They have no skin in this game.
Depending on what state you live in (look @ recent court cases) walk into court and say show me the note.

Yes my home, was paid for at one time. Haven't paid about 1.5 years, they claim that I did not provide a full financial package of which I did. If I had any living relatives I could see a fire sale but that is out of the question too. lol Container homes are looking quite attractive to me.

Cebu, most folks from what I read are trying to get verification of an MERS loan! Some people have found it and others have not because they scuttled their website or some such. Having MERS on the paperwork is a gift IMHO.

Per my understanding, MERS was set up to not actually be able to own the houses under mortgage that are listed with it.

The Supreme Court of...I think it was Kansas ruled recently that MERS has no right to these titles. I see this going to the US Supreme Court eventually (which will ultimately favor the banks). Until then, ride this wave. It is one of the precious few ways to stick the banksters!
