You can place key words dealing with your website to put you on top of google. But they do get more traffic than us but about 30% less activity.

Did you clear all cookies/cache prior to the search General? If not, your search has personalization c/o the Googleplex.

On that same note, I've noticed lately that when I search on google, the autofill seems suspiciously keyed in to my geographical and intellectual areas of interest.

Same thing with google maps. For example, if I start to type in "manhat" it will autofill "manhattan, KS" even though Manhattan, NY would be the logical search for most of the country.

On one level, it's very convenient, but also a little scary.

Your google cookie, with its near infinite expiration date, is what allows google to provide those types of services. Your IP (from your ISP) gives them your basic geographic location. The google cookie on your machine is what enables the algorithm to personalize your search results.

Also remember that google has saved every search ever performed through its services.

I remember having to work my way through 14 pages to find us.

In Canada, my google page defaults to google.ca

We're sixth on the list, when I enter "Gold silver forum"

This is exactly why I choose to use Startpage. Yeah, I have to type a little more but at least I haven't been googleized.

I used startpage for a while before I found out that Alex Jones was a misleader.

Then I said "screw it" and just used google again.

I'd better type more and faster to make us #1 :oo-->

No Ponce. You need to quote yourself more often if you wish to put us over the top. Google counts self quotes with a factor of 20 X anything else.

I'm always afraid to click the first on a google query.

Too much Spam doing that.

What I find odd is that when you simply add the "-" between "gold" and "silver", the actual site address, gim2 still comes up first.

So, why would they have "gold-silver" as a search term? <---rhetorical question only. No need to answer

i've been using "scroogle" for most of my searches...

that way, google can't set a cookie, doesn't see your IP address, and cannot tell which searches are from the same person...

scroogle randomly grabs a google IP, google issues a new cookie, with a new ID and sends the search results.

then scroogle trashes the cookie, and saves the results in a file that is deleted within the hour...

google records scroogle's IP address, the search terms, and the date and time. Scroogle parses the file, and sends the results to the searcher...

scroogle doesn't use cookies, doesn't save search terms, and logs are deleted within 48 hrs...

happy searching!!!
