Supposedly some large hedge fund sold off a lot of holdings for their end of year profit, earlier than is usually done. This created volatility in the market, along with bonds. Both bonds and PMs are highly volatile today.

I just see it as another last ditch buying opportunity prior to the launch in 2011.

Let me say this. Silver and gold are not crashing. Today is an orderly dip in a classic bull market rally. The fundamentals are so fantastic for the metals and the metal miners that simply put, there is no other place to put your money in the market at this time in history. Physical is even better. FWIIW, silver eagles are selling consistently for $35! ;D

Let me say this. Silver and gold are not crashing. Today is an orderly dip in a classic bull market rally. The fundamentals are so fantastic for the metals and the metal miners that simply put, there is no other place to put your money in the market at this time in history. Physical is even better. Profit taking after this huge run is expected. If I had a place to go with the profits, I would have taken some...but I see no where to go (for me) at this time. RE is over-priced, interest rates are nothing, stocks are shaky(except some good miners..maybe), bonds are peaked...PM's are still looking good to me.

I am not worried about the current smackdown because gold and silver will not stay down for very long. Once the "Paper Boys" finish taking their fiat paper profits, then gold and silver will resume it's upward move. In terms of fundamentals, nothing has changed. The FED is still printing $'s, the national debt is still growing and the Congresswhores are still deficit spending so that means that gold and silver (and everything else) will continue to go up.

I don't think crash is the right word, falling maybe. I don't think there's anyone here that would mind a dip down to $20 and with it a chance to pad the stash just a little or a lot more. It will surely hit $30 again and higher soon enough and at some point no physical to be had at any price but I'm welcoming another opportunity to bolster my meager reserves.
