My family friend who has the Cash4Gold business, tell's me yesterday that he is heading to the refiner today
to melt some Gold and Silver. He says be by your phone, after they melt it. So I finally get the call, he sold the Silver to a guy in the hallway, who paid $75 over what the refiner was willing to pay. I mean wtf, people are waiting in the hallways of the refiner to snatch up Silver. But besides that we already had a deal, I mean I was at his store before he left and saw the Scrap Silver and wanted it. It ended up being 90%.

I don't know i'm pretty pissed, mainly because I have done so much work for the guy to get his store open and i've yet to get anything from him. I'm not asking for much, i mean i'm going to pay for it. Then before he left I said I'm interested in some of the Gold, he had 7oz, so maybe an oz, but it would of only been maybe 14k. So he sold everything, just a little shocked.

Last week, he landed some coins and he wouldn't part with them either. I just don't understand, then I find out he melted some of the coins in with the scrap gold, jesus wtf. Anyway maybe he will feel bad and hook me up in the future, I doubt it.

wait until shtf. then, he'll be trying to kill you for food instead of not giving you a deal.

people like this are bad news.

even badder news with what's to come. they're always looking out for themselves. depending upon the situation, that can get worse and worse.

better you learned it over some 90% ounces than a coleman propane tank, water, and a can of beans.

Yeah there are lots of shady people out there. I bought some fake silver rounds at an auction last weekend. I thought they looked a little weird but my greed got the better of me. Brought them home and after handling them they didn't seem right. Threw them on a scale and they were only 21-22g. (should be 31g) Looks like they are cupro-nickle with some sort of chemical treatment to give them a tarnished look. Now the thing that is bothering me is if the auctioneer knows and if he is turning a blind eye or even in on the scam. I have seen the same ones up for sale there before. Seems like a regular thing.

Hell even a Jew would atleast let me counter offer, not that I would of. I mean should I have to counter offer some guy waiting in a hallway? While I spent hours and hours designing the blue prints, 4 trips to city hall, doing all the work. I get shit on. Sure i'm getting paid, but it's a family friend, i'm going everything below cost
and not charging for half the shit I did.

But you guy's are right and I know that, but I can't really bitch to him, so i'll bitch here and maybe to my wife. Since that is from her side of the family.

I don't really think there is a lot I can do about it. Funny thing is that most of the other coins for sale that day were listed in the catalog and have descriptions as to what they are, but these were not included. I suppose looking back that should be a red flag right there. No description of what the item is, means no liability for the auctioneer. Even when he put them up for sale he didn't state that they were silver rounds. They were grouped in with a bunch of other coins and it was your choice as to what you would take from the group after the high bid. Whatever was left over was then bid on again. Seems like the whole thing was done in a way to protect the auctioneer now that I think about it, which makes me think he knows that he is selling fakes. I think I will talk to him anyway but i am not getting my hopes up. Luckily it wasn't a huge sum of money.

Buddy probably wanted it as quick and easy as possible from the looks of it. A one shot deal, and it's done, kind of guy.

I would have told him I'd take the lot on barter for my services, or work out the difference in cash.

The key was probably taking it all off his hands in one swoop as the opening proposition.

Highest bidder, and easiest transaction always wins.

Still a bit of a giant douche though. Don't lend him anything ever.

I wouldn't consider that person much of a friend. There is honor among friends. If there isn't . . . you're not friends. Were there ever times that you didn't show up, or you said you wanted to buy something, but didn't? That's the only way I could excuse your friend's behavior.

When I was selling gold to buy the RV, I offered an oz to my friend's husband when spot was 1200. He said yes, and by the time he got around to picking it up and paying for it, spot was 1245. He asked if I wanted 1245 now. I said no - a deal is a deal. He insisted that I take spot. Finally, we settled in the middle, to make both of us happy. ;D

Well, that's the same guy that gave me a gram of Rhodium for my birthday. His wife could not understand my excitement over this tiny piece of dull metal. ;D He also planted an orange tree at my house. Very cool friend.
