I am my self guilty of it,but have you noticed the amounts of threads started(not just here) but are just a link to a Youtube video? even the breaking news on the Yahoo and Google pages mostly link right to a video. One thing with the use of the Internet was the resumption of using the written word(or typed),over the news or stories being Television based. With the advent of high speed internet available to most, we are returning to video.
Posting a video concerning a news event, like a storm or something funny is a great way to retell a story, but Im noticing links just to a video where someone is sitting there talking at his camera .Its like they cant get their point across with writing and have to tell you through streaming video. Thoughts?

To testify you must stand, grab hold of your balls and start talking. It is after all biblical: "out of the mouths of two or more witnesses will the facts be established". Says nothing about out of the pen.
The written word might be an affidavit but diction is more important. In a sense it is a throwback to an age that could not read or write. Clerics used to be so rare they were exempted from certain criminal acts (benefit of clergy).

I almost never watch videos when they are posted.....probably because I have a short attention span. I don't want to wait and watch some video, I can usually glean the essence of an article in about 20 seconds.

Same here. When reading I can skip sentences and paragraphs that are redundant or uninteresting while re-reading and savoring the profound. It's easier separating wheat from chaff when I don't have to listen to everything consecutively.

nunaem? we read the same way......I look out for words and read a line or two and if I like it I then read the whole thing.........
By the way......not many people are able to read and them to make sense of what they have read and that's why video is good.
In Mexico many people can now read thanks to the government who puts out new comic books every week, to follow the stories in the comics you must read.
