NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Wal-Mart is recalling more than two million electric heaters because of a "fire and burn hazard," the company said Thursday.
The retailer, in a joint statement with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, said it was recalling 2.2 million heaters of the following brands: Flow Pro, Airtech, Aloha Breeze and Comfort Essentials.
"The heaters can malfunction resulting in overheating, smoking, burning, melting and fire," said Wal-Mart and the commission.
So far, Wal-Mart said it has received four reports of injuries for "minor burns and smoke inhalation" and 11 reports of property damage. The company said that consumers should stop using the heaters and bring them to a Walmart store for a refund.
Wal-Mart (WMT, Fortune 500) said the Chinese-made heaters were sold between 2001 and 2009.

I'm trying to figure out if the Chinese are purposely trying to kill us, or if it's just that their quality standards are just really low.

I would say both, but we also need to look at the Brand behind them that is behind this crap being shipped over here.

Your not serious are you??
lets see:
four reports of injuries for "minor burns and smoke inhalation" and 11 reports of property damage
that 15 problems total so far out of 2,000,000 should be about .000075%
No wonder the US can't compete! I call this a frivolous claim. People trying to get money from nothing?
Can I claim damages from getting burned or inhaling/smoke damage from my wood burner?
Edit: I take no responsibility for my math skills.

It wasn't this one recall that made me think this. It's the melamine in dog food, the lead paint on childrens toys, etc.
