I suspect this will be the last "real" BFF of the year, since Christmas New Year's Eves will play havoc with the FDIC.

Congrads go out to last weeks winners Beefsteak and Silver Art Bar - well done - both chose 2 banks!

This week saw an anemic 4 closures - GA and FL finished the year strong!
United Americas Bank, N.A. Atlanta GA
Appalachian Community Bank, FSB McCaysville GA
Chestatee State Bank Dawsonville GA
The Bank of Miami,N.A. Coral Gables FL

The great news is that this was a spectacular finish for the year - there were no wrong picks (everyone wins!).

Wow - up to six now - who knew!

Community National Bank Lino Lakes MN
First Southern Bank Batesville AR

Well done!

Kudos to all BMs - have a wonderful Christmas and New Years!

Well, banks are still open on the west coast, so I don't think it's over yet!

I could be wrong on this but I think that Georgia is going to be the Bank Failure capital for 2010.

EDIT: MNeagle, I do not think it is over yet. The West Coast (mainly CA) might bump up that number.

Regulators shuttered six banks holding a total of $1.23 billion in assets, including three in Georgia and one each in Arkansas, Minnesota and Florida, as real-estate losses drive this year’s bank failures to 157.
