But I will be teaching my oldest granddaughter to shoot someday soon. she is just 7 years old right now.

That looks like a Henry Bolt-action .22, with the manual pin-pull.
That little girl would have been in big trouble if she needed to use it, (If it is the Henry) because she would have to work the bolt, and then manually pull the firing pin back between each shot.
Thank God it never came to that! She's very brave!
