i heard this somewhere, but can't remember where.

people don't have to pay attention to the real world because they have:

1) friday night high school games
2) saturday college games
3) sunday nfl games
4) monday night nfl games

that leaves tuesday, wednesday, and thursday to worry about fiat currency systems, losing their god given rights, and being farmed like an animal. and, one of those days is probably spent on catching up with their fantasy team.

eh.

Makes sense. I despise football and sports all together.

The Romans had their gladiators and we have our football and dancing with the stars in order to avert our eyes averted from the real problems which is bringing down our republic.

At my age I have seen it all and specially what is going on, from the beginning I saw it forming like a dark cloud in the sky.....and that started back in 1998 when I first started to learn about the Zionists and that's why I took action in 2000 by starting to get ready as best I could.

The will of the people is all that can saved us but as long as they only watch and listen to the US news, which is controlled by the Zionist Israelis, they will never learn as to what is really going on.

You will suffer and you will die by your stupidity and by not oppening your eyes to the truth.

Read the Protocols. The Khazars know our weakness for "contests" and vowed to take full advantage of it by making "contests" of everything. Jews own most if not all football teams and promote spectator sports with enthusiasm.

Multiple teevees in every home now. They don't watch the same hypnotizing programming together anymore.

In the basement is some troublemaker logged onto GSUS.

Watching football (HS, college, NFL) is just another form of escapism for the sheeple to do. I am a normal sheeple person since I like watching Football and I watch more TV than the average GSUSer. Getting the sheeple to pay attention to non-MSM topics will be near impossible to accomplish because, as Ratholer stated, they are more concerned about work (i.e. keeping their job) and family life (i.e. raising their children) then they are about the topics that GSUSers talk about on a regular basis.

NFL season only lasts 4-5 months while college and prep seasons are even shorter.

You know what they say about ignorance and apathy.........

It's not just football. There are many people that follow all sports year round. Why, well that may never be answered? It may have something to do with the flashy lights on the tee vee though.

You got basketball, NBA, NCAA, High School
Then baseball, I don't think the crowd is as big at the college level though.
Well then you go your NASCAR too. Bush series, truck crap.
And a little Hockey to fill in some of the gap for the canuuks. (Curling just won't make money)
There is a new woman's roller derby league starting up locally. Might be worth a ticket to go see.

Most are distracted. The ones who try to understand are most likely stuck because they only use so many sources of information.

When is American Idol on, and where is my IPod/IPhone?

And beyond sports... just take a glance at the show lineup for "The Learning Channel" these days, and you'll see the agenda quite clearly. "Learning" that you need to spend $10,000 on a wedding dress to be happy?!? I truly expect the Science Channel will be running "Aw, My Balls" any day now. Seriously.

I agree 100% with what's being said on this thread.

I have to say that I think things aren't bad enough yet. I watch Football when at my brother's house (I don't own a TV). I see the stadiums are still full. As long as people still have the money to pay to watch, the "bread and circuses" will continue.

"We must realize that our party's most powerful weapon is racial tensions. By propounding into the consciousness of the dark races that for centuries they have been oppressed by whites, we can mold them to the program of the Communist Party. In America we will aim for subtle victory. While inflaming the Negro minority against the whites, we will endeavor to instill in the whites a guilt complex for their exploitation of the Negros. We will aid the Negroes to rise in prominence in every walk of life, in the professions and in the world of sports and entertainment. With this prestige, the Negro will be able to intermarry with the whites and begin a process which will deliver America to our cause."

I love watching sports. Always have. My dad took me to games since I can remember.

It did not preclude me from buying silver and preps.

It did not prevent me from getting to this website.

It did not prevent me from visiting Rense, Alex Jones, David Icke, etc...

Nothing wrong with sports or American Idol or Lindsey Lohan.

internet - hey that's me, but I use if only for info like GSUS to learn about the world and read arltices.

Remember the old Latin saying used in the days of the Roman Empire:

Panem Et Circenses

“The Latin "panem et circenses" (literally "bread and circuses") is a derogatory phrase which can describe either government policies to pacify the citizenry, or the shallow, decadent desires of that same citizenry. In both cases, it refers to low-cost, low-quality, high-availability food and entertainment.

I, too, see the detrimental distraction professional sports provides. I see how the young are induced to believe they can achieve greatness by being an athlete, which, statistically speaking, will never happen. How the athletes are given gladiator status to be admired more than the great minds of our time.

However...all things in moderation. If you like football, hockey, baseball, whatever...so be it. It's your hobby. It gives you something to converse with the sheep about.

The problems arise when you ignore your path and purpose because you are too busy trading fantasy team players or flipping through 10 sports stations to keep up with scores.

TPTB are more than eager to keep the population stupified with trivial matters such as sports.

I loathe most spectator sports however have taken an interest in MMA fights mainly because there is so much to learn from it and the practical use is more applicable than throwing a ball around.

I think the key word in this discussion is moderation, it seems like it's a bit like walking and chewing gum. I know people whose entire lives revolve around football, soccer, video/music, tv, homeowner, good citizen, their jobs etc...etc...etc. There's a thousand poisons to distract everyone from everything of real importance,at least as we see and define importance. Most of these people are NOT multi-dimensional but I think most here at GSUS are mentally capable of being mega aware and still being capable of watching a game or a movie or for that matter, working, without getting lost in any one aspect totally.

With out the Jock Sniffers this country would be much less mired and in trouble. You need to read Eric Hoffer and see what he has to say about "Fanatics" sports fans are Fanatics and they are a dangerous breed of people that the government has to keep happy and stupid until they decide to unleash them for their own needs.

If we could break the Jock Sniffer cycle that is passed down to Father and Son like incest we would truly live in a much freer more advanced society.

I agree with you for the most part. The problem is you are probably a minority. Most people don't even know where to buy gold/silver. I was talking to a young woman about buying PM's, and she wanted to run out and buy jewelry.

Many people are immersed in so many things while the world is ready to collapse around them. When it does, they'll be saying, "How did we get to this point"? Sports, American Idol, cell-phones, video-games, etc are all small pieces of the big distracting pie, and more people are immersed with them than worrying about fixing the country.

A point worth pondering, yes, but this post misses the OP's intent totally, IMO.

There is a difference between activities that enrich a person's life, and the mind-numbing, masturbatory, groupthink junk that is contemporary pop culture.

I think that celebrity (authority) worship has been well-cultivated in the proletariat, and is being used against them in ways they are likely not even aware of. That's bad.
