So my wife gave me my Christmas present early since we're going to be out of town with family for Christmas day. I thought it was a really neat gift that many here could appreciate!
Its a 1906 Barber Half Dollar turned into a ring.
I "replaced" my wedding ring with this one, as I'm not a real blingy type person. Now I have multiple rings I can switch back and forth between.
It wasn't too expensive, I think it was right around $40. Obviously above the silver content, but a neat way to enjoy an old coin!
Maybe someday I will get a Walking Liberty ring as well!

I'm not affiliated with this guy at all, just a happy customer. My wife says he treated her really well and answered all of her questions and actually took time with her to make sure she was happy with what she got.

I'm wearing a Walking Liberty Half Dollar ring right now as a matter of fact. And I got my dad a Morgan Silver dollar ring last year some time. I got them from this guy -

I think Ken's wife (playswithfire) makes these rings too. They're nice!

Any coin can be turned into a ring easily...you can even do it yourself with a small mallet and a dremel : ) It's gonna take you at least 10 hours, probably more like 15...at least. After the first time it gets easier.

For your daughter is born you can make her one out of a merc dime : )
When you hammer the metal, the words tend to move around, too. As you can see, the real skill is not making the ring, but making the ring so it reads "LIBERTY" or some such on the finished product.

Truly awesome gift as it displays precious metal knowledge as well as time spent. A very outspoken piece.

Yeah the guy has them made out of all kinds of coins. The dollar coins weere I think size 13-17. Even had them from SAEs like sizes 17-25...I don't even think my dick is size 25

If I were rich enough I'd have them make me a gold one out of a $10 gold liberty. The stars and date on the obverse would make for a nice ring.
The peace dollar would also make a nice ring.

wow, thanks for the links. These are fantastic. I notice the gold ones all say replica coins are used (copper clad with gold). I wonder if they would do one with a real gold coin, and will they send me back the unused gold scraps ;)

I'm glad you bumped this thread. I actually got a hold of the guy and asked him about .9999 silver rounds. He said that silver is too soft to do it with, and that it would be wrecked in no time at all.
I said "So if I sent you a silver coin, you would not make me a ring?"
He said "Sure I would, but it wouldn't last you."
I was a little disappointed because I have these nice APMEX rounds that are small, just 1/2 ounce coins, that would look nice turned into a ring.
