WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has said his whistleblowing website plans to publish hundreds of "sensitive" U.S. diplomatic cables on Israel, Al-Jazeera television reported on Thursday.

"Sensitive and classified documents" on Israel's 2006 war on Lebanon and January's assassination in Dubai of Hamas militant Mahmud al-Mabhuh would be released, Assange told Al-Jazeera in an interview.

Assange said WikiLeaks had 3,700 U.S. documents on Israel, including 2,700 originating from Israel, but denied the website had any agreement in place to spare the country of leaks. "We do not have any secret deals with any country," he said according to an Arabic translation of remarks he made in English which were posted on Al-Jazeera's website. "We do not have any direct or indirect contacts with the Israelis," Assange is quoted as saying, adding no more than two percent of available documents on Israel have been released so far.

Some of Israel's neighbors, most notably Turkey, have expressed unease at the lack of leaks the whistleblowing website has released on Israel. Following initial reaction to the first leaked U.S. Embassy cables many of which revealed diplomatic secrets about Turkey and its other neighbors, Turkish officials have started to suspect that “the main cause of these leaks was to weaken the Turkish government.”

Hüseyin Çelik, deputy leader of the Justice and Development Party, or AKP, and the party’s spokesperson, earlier this month said “Israel could have engineered the release of hundreds of thousands of confidential documents on WikiLeaks as a plot to corner Turkey on both domestic and foreign policy.” Turkey and Israel have had bitter relations since the flotilla crisis, in which Israeli commandos killed eight Turkish and one American-Turkish citizen.

“One has to look at which countries are pleased with these. Israel is very pleased. Israel has been making statements for days, even before the release of these documents,” Çelik said.

Israel fought a devastating one-month war with Lebanon's Shiite movement Hezbollah in the summer of 2006 that killed more than 1,200 people in Lebanon, most of them civilians, and 160 Israelis, mainly soldiers. Dubai police chief Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan has linked Israel's spy agency Mossad to the Jan. 20 Cold War-style assassination in a Dubai hotel of Mabhuh.

I was close ;D

I am not sure one way or the other on wikileaks but I know 2 things, one, Climategate under no circumstances would they want these emails published, global warming was a HUGE goal for the elites to push on the serfs and this completely blew it out of the water. 2. collateral murder, seeing american military personnel murder innocent civilians is nothing that a government would want leaked out (not to mention the other parts of the afghan wart diary which documented thousands of civilian deaths)

I know the other side too, all to well believe me, but unless I had inside knowledge, with good conscience I can't pass judgement yet.

Here is the article as well as a rebuttal

All I know about wikileaks, Tim Mcveigh, Joe Stack etc. is there is no better move for the government than to circulate rumors that they are controlled. Think about it, if you think a whistleblowing website is controlled would you donate, or leak documents? Hell no. Mission accomplished.

If the government helped McVeigh and Stack, the only 2 people who dealt a blow (very small one in Stacks case) why would you ever try? It's useless right? Nobody else is going to join you these guys are on the feds payroll after all, nobody else has any balls why should you?

The controlled opposition line is the ONLY bullet the government has, especially in the case of wikileaks and the scenario outlined above.

There are some redflags for wikileaks no doubt, but there are some serious issues which the detractors can't or won't answer.

And actually it does. Though the information has not been released there will be a considerable dump, according to reports, including some 3,700 documents detailing Israel’s assassination plot in Dubai, the 2007 air strike against Syria, and the 2006 invasion of southern Lebanon.

GORDON DUFF: WIKIWEASEL II-THE ALTERNATIVE MEDIA CRUSHES WIKILEAKS (http://www.veteranstoday.com/2010/12/25/gordon-duff-alternative-media-crushes-wikileaks/) *

* disclaimer: I don't fully trust Gordon Duff, any more than I "fully trust" any "truth teller" on the internets. GD has posted numerous essays (http://www.veteranstoday.com/author/gordonduff/) which are right in the epicenter of what's appealing to "truth seekers" any given month, and for the most part his messages have 'rung true' vis-a-vis my perceptions. He's been one of ZioLeaks' most infamous critics, as one example. However the various articles & audio interviews I've seen from him have, long-story-short, left the yellow lights flashing.

the biggest thing Israel has to hide right now is its involvement in 9-11. ( and, possibly, involvement in 7-7-5 and Mumbai.)

Israel benefits from most media articles that distract us from this most serious of recent crimes.

Israel also benefits from articles that make it hard for the general public to discern the Jews' ongoing pattern of ritual human sacrifice - which goes back to the time of Jesus.

i agree that acknowledgment of Israel's attack on the USS Liberty would be the right thing to do. but because it was 43 years ago, most Americans, with the short attention span and the fear of appearing anti-Jewish, will fall into the "but it was so long ago" camp.

so even the USS Liberty can be used by Israel and the Zionists to muddy up the tracks leading to their involvement in 9-11.

it appears that most of the Wikileaks cables relate to recent events, things that happened in the last 10 to 20 years.

generally i like what Assange is doing - unless it is part of a cover-up/ limited hang-out.

but most Americans don't care about Syria, Lebanon, and Dubai.
