Sanitation Department's slow snow clean-up was a budget protest (http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/sanit_filthy_snow_slow_mo_qH57MZwC53QKOJlekSSDJK)
These garbage men really stink.
Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts -- a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.
Miles of roads stretching from as north as Whitestone, Queens, to the south shore of Staten Island still remained treacherously unplowed last night because of the shameless job action, several sources and a city lawmaker said, which was over a raft of demotions, attrition and budget cuts.
They sent a message to the rest of the city that these particular labor issues are more important," said City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens), who was visited yesterday by a group of guilt-ridden sanitation workers who confessed the shameless plot.
Halloran said he met with three plow workers from the Sanitation Department -- and two Department of Transportation supervisors who were on loan -- at his office after he was flooded with irate calls from constituents.

Easy answer, fire them all. There are plenty of people who are unemployed who would be happy to drive a plow.

When the Soviet empire collapsed all state workers were paid on 6 month lag while their pay and benefits were hyperinflated into oblivion.
Let these parasites get whatever they want it will only hurry up the decline to free us from this game.
None of them will be smart enough to invest their money in gold and silver so all of these new dollars will be chasing way to late in the game after Gold and Silver which will create generational wealth.

to me this is an example of TSHTF. a slow-motion breakdown in social services and agreements, a YOYO ("you're on you're own") moment for New Yorkers.
reminds me of the extortion practiced by American doctors ... you give us all your money, or you die ... or you give us all your money - then you die anyway.
it's the one time when the sanitation workers are needed to simply do their jobs - and choose not to. so New York City gets a few days of chaos & cold. a simple message from the sanitation workers ... "you need us - so PAY UP."
interesting to see a social problem that can't be blamed directly on The Joos ... yet.
but there might be a silver lining - i'm sure some New Yorkers had a great time playing in the snow in Central Park.
when i grew up Connecticut & winter weather shut things down, we (the kids) stayed home from school, and basically owned the streets.

The Plebs better get use to sub-optimal services because in a short time those services are going to become non exsitent which will lead to widespread discontent ......which will lead to heavy hand gubbermint to keep "order"

The area of NYC is 305 square miles so lets estimate 1,000 miles of critical streets, a population of 8.4 million people and a snow depth of 3 feet. Calculation follows
1000 miles of streets
x 5280 feet per mile
____________
5,280,000 total feet
x 16 feet wide
____________
84,480,000 square feet
x 3 feet deep (snow)
____________
250,344,000 cubic feet
Now the population estimate for NYC is 8.4 million people.
250,344,000 cubic feet of snow to be moved
div by 8,400,000
________________
30.017 cubic feet per person
x 6.2 lbs per cubic feet (snow)
________________
187.05 lbs snow per person
In other words if every man, woman and child could move less than 200 lbs of snow each then there would be no snow emergency. That would only be 30 shovelfulls. What is wrong with these people? They lazy?

But the proles, if only they could somehow become conscious of their own strength, would have no need to conspire. They needed only to rise up and shake themselves like a horse shaking off flies. If they chose they could blow the Party to pieces tomorrow morning. Surely sooner or later it must occur to them to do it? And yet..."

So that would be 8.4 million shovels that need to be purchased. Go long on shovels? "It" seems to be getting deeper every day.
How many apartment and condo dwellers expect to shovel snow when they are already paying a maintence fee?

And yet..." To do so would require ticking off the Sanitation union.

How many apartment and condo dwellers expect to shovel snow when they are already paying a maintence fee? I gave the Republic side solution. The present system is the military run Democracy solution. In this case you vote with your snow shovel for which system you belong to.
