Wow !
Epic war series ...
Already have seen " Band of brothers ". The Pacific was new to me. Decided to rent all the episodes at the same time.
I had the time to watch it and a lot of you said great things about it.
And as always, you were right...
Thank you guys . it was well worth it.

GG, great review! I finally got to share Christmas with my family tonight, and my parents got me the Band of Brothers series. I'm excited about that, and look forward to watching it (once I finish the book).
The Pacific will be next, for sure.
Also, for a gripping read, check out the book 'With the Old Breed' written by E.B.Sledge. It's about him going through the marine bootcamp, then landing on the beaches at Peleliu and Okinawa. The battle descriptions are intense, and it's a great book, imo.

Yes- I read With The Old Breed.... and saw many of the scenes on The Pacific.
I have been reading many accounts of WW2 actions. You can learn alot about human nature and the human condition from these. Life is snuffed out quickly and seemingly randomly. You must grab the reins and make use of what you have.
