Given the can of worms is already open:

Wife tells me women do not need to orgasm to feel satisfied with sexual intercourse.

I as a man, beg to differ!

Agreed. What's funny is that making a woman orgasm makes me say, "Job well done", and makes me feel like a man. ;D

Interestingly, some say men shouldn't need to orgasm either, and that in fact doing so

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/cupids-poisoned-arrow/200908/another-way-make-love
http://www.reuniting.info/another_way_to_make_love

Perhaps orgasms short-circuit energy which could have been used another way.

Remember that thread early on in GSUS history where someone was claiming that circumcised men couldn't have an orgasm. Man that was a bloodbath.

A: Who cares?

they have the anatomy to have an orgasm.

once i had a job interview for engineering work for these people
http://www.goodvibes.com/main.jhtml

it was one of the most interesting job interviews i ever had !

if women did not need to orgasm - why would they be spending $130 on a vibrator ?

i think it's kind of a semantic question, between need & want.

women are less cranky after an orgasm.

just like that old Coke ad. "things go better with Coke" ... "things go better when women have orgasms".

i was going to say, it's not necessary for the woman to orgasm in order for procreation/conception to occur.

however, since women have the anatomy for an orgasm ... it feels good ... equals more sex ... equals greater probability of pregnancy.

so perhaps womens' orgasm is a Darwinian thing. orgasms create a sociological motivation that increases the probability of conception.

i think we might be thinking about it too much. :o

Some women have a difficult time having organism. Those women, probably, would rather not be expected to always have a great big orgasm that flatters the guy. Is the 'gasm about the woman or the man's ego? These are the kind of gals I would imagine have perfected the fake orgasm. I once dated a woman -- best woman in bed I've ever had - who to achieve her climax had to be fingered with 2 or 3 fingers while she worked her clit over with a fancy vibrator, for about 10 minutes. She had to do this with all guys. Just the way it was. Now how many women in our society, or any society for that matter, can ask their men to accommodate this way?

Not many, but honestly a lot of guys would be open to all sorts of activities if women would open up a little. It's a great feeling to figure out what a particular gal, what works, so to speak...because each gal is different. That's what is so fantastic though, because once you get there, it's a powerful bond you've established with her.

heres my 2 cents...

if you can't get her to orgasm prior to insertion (of the penis), you haven't done your homework, and need to school yourself.

like the old saying goes...i'd rather be a cunning linguist than a master debater!
most women can achieve orgasm without insertion, so it pays to brush up on your oral presentation!!

line trimmer....
i think that if a woman is comfortable enough to sleep with someone, she should be comfortable enough to discuss what does and doesn't work for her...although this is not always the case, it should be...

That sounds kind of needy, needing to depend on a woman to enjoy yourself. :D

Do women need to orgasm?

I suspect they do, but I'm not sure how much the need for a man actually factors into the equation of a female orgasm. :oo-->

To get my wife there, she needs a little work from parts other than my privates. I don't mind, it adds a little adventure.

But what really gets her in the mood is for night time fun is me doing the dishes for her. She hates that chore more than anything, so I gladly do the dishes everyday, and I get a nice reward later. ;)

Women have more than one kind of orgasm...clitoral, vaginal, or a combination of the two at the same time. Most women experience clitoral the most from what I know, vaginal (G-spot) is much more intense and less women experience it.

I'm not sure where this subject goes :]

Some ejaculate and some don't with vaginal orgasm, but when they really let go, that is what happens.

If she's squirtin' you're certain ;D

Actually, most women don't know that it's even possible, amazing but true, they either haven't heard of it, haven't experienced it or think it's a myth. It's something that can be taught and learned, sometimes it happens quickly and sometimes it takes awhile. The more emotional investment involved ie love, the better the chances are for success because of being comfortable and trusting the partner.

Some persons are more sexual than others... whatever that means.

required for existence: no
required for normalcy: yes

A "friend of mine" needs to have an orgasm every morning or she is climbing up the walls at work.

Exactly! I was literally looking to buy some vibrators at this site (http://blissfulcherry.com/buy-sex-toys/vibrators/) the other day, saw the $100+ price tags for a lot of the toys I wanted, and after some (slight) hesitation, went ahead and bought their rabbit vibrator for $120.

Couldn't help myself. Being able to orgasm so easily and whenever I wanted to was worth the $120 to me, as I'm sure it is for a lot of women :)

Hi hotgrandma! I have a feeling you came here with the purpose to promote that site only!

New research suggests that a simple measurement -- a "rule of thumb" -- might be the key to the pleasures of sexual intercourse.

About 75 percent of all women never reach orgasm from intercourse alone -- that is without the extra help of sex toys, hands or tongue. And 10 to 15 percent never climax under any circumstances.

The Internet is rife with non-orgasmic women who say they are missing out, and statistics suggest that they are a significant group.

It may be that it is more important to the man that the woman orgasms than for the woman. I would say it is always an experience when she does.
