GREEN BAY, Wis. - A Green Bay woman found more than just dirt with her refurbished vacuum cleaner she received for Christmas. She found a load of drugs.
The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports the woman found two pounds of crystal methamphetamine and 2.2 pounds of cocaine shrink wrapped inside the box, after receiving the vacuum from her children. Sheriff's officials estimate the drugs' street value at about $280,000.e
Lt. David Poteat (POH-TEET) says a smuggler likely inserted the drugs in the box before it was shipped from the Juarez, Mexico, area, where it had been reconditioned.
Poteat says no one noticed anything, including the department store where it was purchased, until the woman opened the package.
Authorities don't plan to charge the woman. Sheriff's officials say the store is cooperating with the investigation.

Wait, this statement rang out to me. So, they were at least thinking of charging this woman? That's what this implies.
Woman receives a vacuum, how odd of a gift is that? :oo--> She finds drugs, does her civic duty and reports it..and "thankfully" by God they don't charge her with a crime for reporting it?!?
This is BS. Anyone with half a brain could see there's no way a guilty party would even report this drug windfall. The stupidity is amazing...
The 'authorities' need a lesson in logic, and common sense, that's what I think.

That is why you dont go to law enforcement FOR ANYTHING .
If you get robbed or your house is broken into your best bet is get better locks orpurchase some means of protection you feel comfortable with.
But the WORSE possible thing you can do is go to the cops.
They will do absolutely nothing to recover your property but THEY WILL RECORD YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IN TO THEIR DATA BASE ( I think SS numbers are collected as well) and should anything violent happen in that area in the following weeks or months Take a wild guess whos door the detectives will be knocking on first???
It would been better if this woman flushed that smack down her toliet........ now instead she will be monitored for undeteremined amount of time.
See what happens when you try to do the "right" thing???

All avenues of possible connections have to thoroughly investigated.
They have to justify their budgets.
Now keep quiet and turn the game on.

yeah.
good thing she didn't try to sell the smack on Craigslist & donate the proceeds to charity. :sarc:
also their numbers are not right. $280K for a few pounds of white powder ? no one would pay that.
how do they test it. pay some homeless guy $100 to snort a few lines, and see what happens ? it could be bleach.

They ALWAYS overinflate the street value of drugs
Think about it.........Who is going to argue to the contrary???
Im surprise they didnt say it was 1.4 million But theN they have to explain all that inflation

They calculate the street value as if sold in dime bags. I don't know what stuff sells for per ounce but at $100 per gram with dbags being "honest" 1/10 g then I would come up with $188,000. The cops would stomp the crap out of it before they sold it on the street, possibly making up the other 100k :)

Cannabis plants seized also include all leaves and stems in the seized weight amount.
I wouldn't doubt if the root ball is also added in.
That can make one plant worth a hell of a lot more than if you just took the dried bud weight.
