...would you do it all in one fell swoop, or would you do it extended out over a long period of time with brief impressive displays worldwide?

Man made and not space made........space ships (or creatures) don't move that way.

I would introduce it via the TeeVee. Maybe way back with StarTrek and the Twilight Zone. Then I'd start having shows that elude to an Event, other intelligence, other worlds, planet hopping and then I'd drop the big hint of Ancient Aliens.

I'm thinking disclosure isn't that far away . . . we'll see.

I'd hire the Mythbusters team and their warehouse of toys then fill them up with LSD and tell them not to come back until I had 50 exemplary fakes I could disperse across the globe. So, in short to the OP, the latter.
Then I'd kill the Mythbusters team and paint their deaths as LSD suicides.

Anyone read L.A. Marzulli's book "Politics, Prophecy, and the Supernatural"? I like his theories.

Recruit Computer Graphics People in the 1990's to draw ET related stuff - check

have movies like Independence Day, ET, etc - Alien - there's a lot of good ones !

+ there's books like
http://www.amazon.com/Above-Top-Secret-Worldwide-U-F/dp/0688092020
"Above Top Secret" by Timothy Goode, based on reports by uniformed service personnel around the world.

+ programs at literally secret military bases, for example the daily commuter flights out of the airport near Las Vegas, McCorran or something like that. all those employees are working on technology such as that shown, the UFO or simulated UFO in Russia.

i'm not saying that these folks have mastered the UFO-related technologies, just that the US government does study them.

when Rumsfeld announced on Sept. 10, 2001 that the Pentagon had misplaced $1.1 Trillion, i don't think it was simply misplaced. i think it had something to do with "off-balance-sheet" programs, including the study of UFO's and simulated UFO's.

so what i'm saying is, i think the government has done most of the things you would do if you were going to introduce UFO-ism to the masses.

i think the one thing they haven't done but probably will do at some point is to try and tie a UFO news event to religious beliefs & theology. e.g. a staged or spontaneous appearance of human-looking ET's will be presented as "angels" and presented as an important event in Christian and maybe other religions.

I would start with Alfred E. Neuman...

This guy's out there in a Ben Fulford sort of way, but he seems to think the NBC series "The Event" (http://divinecosmos.com/index.php/start-here/davids-blog/872-disclosureevent) is worth scrutiny for prophetic clues from TPTB,

We got a guy (different board) right now going batshit insane about how the "Disclosure Project" is Rockefeller backed

Disclosure Project is 40+ military people who have attained high rank coming forward on video about UFOs.

UFO DISCLOSURE PROJECT -FULL VERSION (116 mins)

I'd heard a few years ago that this video really moved quite a few people. I invested 30-60 mins in watching it but then got sidetracked and haven't returned to it since. Bottom line is I gotta personally see it touch it feel it to be convinced, and I know I'll be in the exact same place no matter who appears in the above video and what they say. Gummit's semi-openly (Iron Mountain) pondering the benefits of an elaborate ET hoax (esp "hostile" ETs) has only hardened my skepticism

I 'allow for the possibility' that ETs have visited, or are part of our life experience here on the Big Blue Marble (anyone else grow up with that kids show in the '70s, probably PBS?). I keep company with Ed Griffin & Catherine Austin Fitts in this regard (see quote following). But until I know first hand re ETs, I'm gonna remain agnostic but open minded.

GORDON DUFF: WIKI-WARNING – LITTLE GREEN MEN COMING (http://www.veteranstoday.com/2010/12/16/gordon-duff-wiki-warning-little-green-men-coming/) - he's actually more open to the idea than the title suggests

on the pentagon hacker UFO guy,
Game over (http://www.guardian.co.uk/theguardian/2005/jul/09/weekend7.weekend2)
Gary McKinnon has been accused of committing the 'biggest military computer hack of all time', and if extradited to the US faces up to 70 years in jail. So how did this techno geek from north London end up cracking open the Pentagon and Nasa's systems? He talks exclusively to Jon Ronson as he awaits his fate

Catherine Austin Fitts:
UQ Wire: What's Up With the Black Budget? (http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0209/S00126.htm)
"... According to John, the purpose of the plan --- discussed in front of several military or retired military officers and former government officials--- was to help the Navy adjust their operations for a world in which it was commonly known that aliens exist and live among us. "

THE REPORT FROM IRON MOUNTAIN (http://www.freedomforceinternational.com/pdf/Report_from_Iron_Mountain.pdf)
This is taken from Chapter 24 of The Creature from Jekyll Island

G. Edward Griffin:
Is there a Black-Ops cabal, even more powerful than government, using technology from alien civilizations? (http://www.freedomforceinternational.org/freedomcontent.cfm?fuseaction=disclosure&refpage=issues)

in January 1995, there was a very brief press release in the San Jose Mercury News.

"the US AirForce admits recovering objects that were non-terrestrial in origin from New Mexico in 1947. The objects were considered to be manufactured".

i saved the paper ... but threw it away when i moved later that year and was house-cleaning.

the apparent technique that the US gov. is doing is making all sorts of small, discreet disclosures. nothing big - not informing 100 Million people all at once.

a Merc News article here, an X-Files episode there - enough to acquaint the masses with the subject matter without alarming them.

that's the methodology of US government disclosure on this subject.
