New tone? Rep. Steve Cohen: Republicans are like Nazis
By Chris Moody - The Daily Caller | Published: 2:01 PM 01/19/2011 | Updated: 6:36 PM 01/19/2011
Chris Moody is a political reporter for the Daily Caller from San Diego, California. Before joining the Daily Caller, Moody was the Manager of New Media at a think tank in Washington DC, a freelance writer and a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He is currently a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University and lives in downtown Washington DC.
Count them: Only 12 days after lawmakers from both sides of the aisle called for “civility” and a “new tone” in response to the shooting in Tucson, Arizona that severely injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and killed six others, Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen has resorted back to using Nazi comparisons to describe his political opponents.
During a speech on the House floor late Tuesday night, Cohen said that Republicans were like Nazis for continuing to call the health care law passed in 2010 as a “government takeover of health care.”
“They say it’s a government takeover of health care, a big lie just like Goebbels. You say it enough, you repeat the lie, you repeat the lie, and eventually, people believe it. Like blood libel. That’s the same kind of thing, blood libel. That’s the same kind of thing,” Cohen said.
Joseph Goebbels was Adolph Hitler’s director of propaganda during World War II.
“The Germans said enough about the Jews and people believed it – -believed it and you have the Holocaust. We heard on this floor, government takeover of health care. Politifact said the biggest lie of 2010 was a government takeover of health care because there is no government takeover,” he added.
Cohen’s late-night speech was originally reported by ABC News.

They have played the "Them evil Nazis, us poor victim Jews" so many times and to such excess that it just doesn't have any impact on most people anymore. In fact, most non-Jews I know just roll their eyes in disdain when they hear this over ripe rhetoric. I think it is in fact turning more and more gentiles against the Jews - so the latter best be careful. History doesn't repeat itself; but it often rhymes. ;)

This is the same asshat who equates any talk of FEMA camps (you know, the ones built by KBR) with "being invaded by green men from Mars". He's insane.

Sounds like when you mandate a 'person' to enter a program in an industry that is run by the government, that would be a Gov. takeover. idunno?

if i had an ounce of silver for every time someone invoked "Nazi's" ... i'd have a billion ounces ... Comex would cease to exist.
a lot of people haven't dug into the details and they're still tired of hearing about "the Nazi's". imagine if they knew that the maximum # of Jewish people killed by the Nazi's is somewhere in the range of 200,000 to 3 million ... instead of 6 million ... and that the Nazi's victims were selected by Zionist Jews (ref. "The Transfer Agreement") ... and that the Nazi's were financed by Wall Street (ref. "George Bush, the un-auth. Biography)
i wonder if, outside of politically correct neighborhoods like California, people are more open to the historical facts.
i got kicked out of a community garden in Sonoma County (run by Jews) in early 2009 - because i criticized Israel on a local political bulletin board. i never talked about politics at the garden. of course, Feb. 2009 was right after Operation Cast Lead, when Israel killed 1400+ Gaza civilians.
even in supposedly anti-war PC Sonoma County, criticizing Israel can have repercussions. one of the directors of the local Peace & Justice Center wrote an editorial strongly criticizing Israel ... she was criticized so much she wrote a second editorial acknowledging the criticism from Israel-supporters, but refusing to back down.
Donations to the center declined significantly ... though that could have been the economy.

So let me get this straight: Steve Cohen, the politician who co-sponsored the bill creating America's concentration camps, who then when he made himself look like a fool on national TV denying what he did, got the show black-holed, removed permanently from the airwaves and remotely erased from digital TV recordings in tens of thousands of homes around the country, is calling others Nazi?
