Just watched this. Bro Nat has grown increasingly silly with his overly-animated style in these vids, but there's a lot of truth to his message in this one. It makes sense not to go into debt for college, for anything less that a hands-on trade, and for that you can probably save money at a trade school, though you'll miss the whole "liberal arts" aspect of every college curriculum, including the trade-oriented majors. It's a radical thing to tell most "don't go to college", given how indoctrinated we've been about the value of college, but what it's become in the states today -- I forget who said, college grads today have a mortgage but no house (or perhaps paid as they went, but won't see the investment back)! I think it was Peter Schiff, who also recommended that girl who had $200K debt for a liberal arts degree, that she flee the country!

I've learned more on the internet than I did in college, which too often seeks to disinform students, in addition to hopelessly indebting them. The internet certainly has its pitfalls though- late 90s/early 2Ks I was attracted to the "left vs right" oriented sites, which it's clear now exist to keep people in their blind alleys and ensure whatever social changes they're interested in meet with no results. That and keeping the real PTB off the radar completely.

Pat, I have a degree in arts. I paid the last of my loans by selling a 100oz Ag brick for 1500$ a few yrs ago (but I bought it for 970$ way before ;)

You can wipe your ass with an art degree. I`m fucking ashamed to have it but it allows me to PROVE TO MY STUPID EMPLOYERS THAT I CAN READ MUSIC. They can put anything in front of me and I will play it but since they cannot read music themselves they ain`t sure that I am playing the right tune and not faking it. That`s when a degree helps.

I think the above video is his attempt to be like a TV ad - or is he always like that?

I didn't mean get an arts degree, I meant that even if you learn a hard skill/trade in college (IE 4+ year degree), you like everyone else has to go through the "core curriculum" which is a series of 3Rs/arts/social-sciences/etc, with the goal of ensuring that if you're a grad of that college, you have a baseline of 3Rs skills, not to mention you're ostensibly a "well-rounded person". Arts/social-science MAJORs are in a world of hurt today.

Compare to a trade school where you exclusively learn the trade.

I'd say he's always like that, but it seems to be getting worse in his more recent BroTube vid (http://www.realzionistnews.com/?cat=374)s.

I used to chat with him thru email. He is always like that. He has quite a background which includes a musicology degree from Boston Conservatory. The dude is not stupid, crazy maybe. Who he really works for we`ll find out when the God cuts us all down.

Many things can be taken away from you, but not an education. I say get one if you can. The internet is great and all, but an institution of learning populated with people dedicated to learning (among those there for other reasons) shouldn't be dismissed.

The key is not getting in debt to get one. Most of the world can't afford an education, and similar things are happening here. They don't want the general population to have a degree, because its valuable, so they make it unaffordable. If you don't go to an expensive school, and play the financial aid and scholarship game, you can beat the system and get something valuable without going into debt.
